I thought the novel was incredible, if typically dense/hard work (by that I mean in keeping with Russian literature) at times. I assume its going to be published in paperback at some point after the exhibition?
A question for other M&M-lovers..
Which translation did you read? I read the big fat chunky one (translated by the couple, I think); but last week I had a flick through another translation and was shocked by how utterly different it was. Like a whole other book.
i read a blue one with a big cat face on the front
that's like Nieztche - until Kaufmann re-translated his books 50 years ago (or whatever) people had a very different idea of what freddie's ideas were - a lot based on one word (uber, as in over, but translated originally as super)
It would appear to be Richard Pevear
who did the penguin version.

it'd be a book well suited to this i think. Some of the book does drift into decriptive stuff, which comes across well in graphic form (obv)

Today while browsing through a non descript and neglected shelve at my local second hand book shop,I found a copy of- i think, Everyman's Library Classic hardbook copy of the master and margarita

with a love "poem" of sorts scribbled on the inside of the first (usually blank) page, something along the lines of:
I love you, lets travel away, and let me rest with you, and we'll be together forever",- or sentiments along those lines. Now not having the firmest grasp of knowledge about this novel, would reading it cause such an outburst of emotion which would lead to a love note of that type being written inside it?
