i thunk it

I like them both

but I think they both have good and bad bits on them they are probibly on a par with each other just.

I just can't see it

a few good songs mixed in with some loud, repetitive sturm-und-drang hectoring versus a beautiful, layered whole (with, in my opinion, better singles)

you're feeling very controversial tonight aren't you?

first 'i'm online' now this?

oh and, meh
*shrugs shoulders*

I prefer

the production on neon bible for sure.

Nah.

i agree

I think funeral has some great and even better songs, but i much prefer the overall feel and sound of neon bible. have probably listened to it a lot more than i did with funeral.

No

It's a good album and all, but no.

no way

Actually, I was going to start a thread

about how I listened to a track off Funeral the other day, for the first time in aaaaaaaages, and how it was really good and how it's a shame Neon Bible kind of soiled their reputation, but I guess there's no need for that now.

was it ocean of noise?

that song fucking rules

Off Fuuuuuuneral

It was 'Crown of Love'.

mac_daddy fact

i heard that song for the first time ever this evening and i pronounce it: pretty good.

listen to it 4 more times

and you'll change your mind

but

neon bible is a bit crap and funeral is a bit brilliant.

agree

no way

neon has:
no cars go
intervention
neon bible
ocean of noise
antichrist
my body

and the rest are at least 4/5 efforts. give it time

the arcade fire ep has no cars go,

and a much better version at that.
this thread is weird. funeral is easily, easily better. there's just zero comparison.

I disagree

I much prefer the neon bible version of no cars go, it flows much better. Mind you I did hear the neon bible version before the ep, and it instantly became one of my faves, so to hear another version was always gonna be a bit disappointing.

As for the album debate, I think they're even stevens.

My Body

is their worst song. Yuck.

well, i dont agree

but theyre both fantastic. depends on the mood im in which i prefer. ive been listenbing to neon bible for the past few hours on repeat and its certainly showing off its subtleties very nicely.

but if i was on a desert island it'd be funeral. even if id have to leave intervention behind

lol

I don't agree with you

but cool.

i totally agree

never heard Neon Bible mind

Funeral for me

It's a personal album, with a more consistent sound and album feel. Win's voice is also much better on it too.

I've got Arcade Fire as my artist of the month on my radio show (The Alternative Route on WFM97.2). What's everyone's top 3 AF tunes and I'll play the most popular.

Slow down big fella!!!

You're talking nonsense.

Neon bible

was the most dissapointing album of this decade.

No

Absolutely not.

Neon Neon > Neon Bible

Nearly every other album released last year > Neon Bible

There, I said it.

Neon Bible is well poo.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

etc

Neon Bible

while not terrible, was pretty forgettable

Funeral

is way better. i had Neon Bible on, and then I stuck Power Out on, and I was blown away (again) by it's power.

Neon did a good job of adding some decent songs to their live show, but aside from the singles it's not great. Funeral on the other hand is great almost all of the time.
