Not that i need a DiS review to validate my quite likery of At Mount Zoomer but it would be nice to have their two cents. Plus they are quite a big band, within these circles anyways. Just a thought.

because
there's no point in reviewing a universally acclaimed album, they'll say exactly the same thing as everyone else
"fuck, best record ever, 10/10"
or something
yeh
but sometimes they'll give an alternative point of view to most critics, which is what makes this site fairly interesting to read most of the time.
What?
Buts its rubbish.
^ wrong
this is the reason
why you're not paid to review records
So DiS shouldn't review good records?
Right
Ask David Icke
I'm sure it's something to do with space lizards ruling the world. Maybe they code their plans for world domination onto Wolf Parade LPs and they are concerned that DiS could expose their evil plans?
except for the wonderfully wacky keyboards
Wolf Parade seems painfully like Modest Mouse to me. Am I insane? (a rhetorical question)
I think not.
yes you are
some of it is painfully talking headsy..in a good way though
even though no one else seems to see it :\
the first record was produced by isaac brock,
so nah, not so insane.
cool, just a little insane
That's the one I have "Sorry About The Queen Mary" or something. I wanted to get the new one but they didn't have it in the store- man, my ears amaze me sometimes- I'll bet Isaac did some backing vocals or something cause I really picked up on his presence- He's my cousin you know- it's blood radar.
Be patient
I mean don't know, but I'm sure.
Is it just me?
Or are they a bit overrated? I've listened to both albums and nothing really blew me away. It's still pretty good music in the end, but definitely not on the level of "amazing".
Give it time...
Apologies To The Queen Mary took a few months to grab me, but when it did... oh boy!
I love all this wacky keyboard canadian love-in shit though.
Thanks for the encouragement
I'll keep listening.
Dear Sons & Daughters of Hungry Ghosts
is definitely amazing
David Icke
I saw David Icke talking at the Oxford Union, he's not even insane he's just a complete fucking moron. It was just endless cod-science about energy waves and messages being sent by the 'media machine'. He was talking to a bunch of Oxford students about 9/11 conspiracies and pyramids of power. And don't get me started on the crudely captioned George Bush photos. And he didn't even mention the lizards, except one picture that he sort of glossed over. It was great, if arduous.
Oh and Wolf Parade are still awesome.
So, you digressed at the outset
and then came to the topic, how very droll and waggish, I mean really, can we just have some on topic mother grabbers once in awhile on the outside chance the one or two of us are too senile to be able to change gears like that; throwing lizards, 9/11 theories and Oxford students out directly in my pathway just as I am finishing a arduous and mildly great thread about what was it again, a proper sock folding method?
Oh and David Icke is still awesome.
Someone
mentioned David Icke. I spoke of my experience of David Icke. I thought i'd better say something about Wolf Parade. I did start the thread and am now thankful that those below this have answered my query. All is well with the world. And as it is i'm particularly drole and waggish, but wasn't trying to be in that post, but i think my latent drolish waggery ways subconsciously imbue everything i write. Basically, i dazzle myself sometimes.
I think apologies is the best debut album of the decade
their 2nd was the album I was most looking forward to, it is disapointing
who are their record label?
no promos probably
sub pop
...
^ this ^
we have not been sent a copy of the album.
that's the only reason?
fuck, i'll do one.
the funny thing is
Wolf Parade are universally overated and only have two (albeit untouchable) good songs
what's funny about that?
+ the entire first album is great.
*entire both albums are great
The second one is lame
I have gone off them now. I liekd the first one mind and still play it some times.
But the second album is brilliant!
Id love to see a review on here.
I would like to see a review yeah
I couldnt get into the new one not yet anyway. I haven't given up on it but it just hasn't got under my skin like the debut did.
@MZ
(as I like to call it, and you should to) is a "grower". Really didn't like it at first, but love it now. Listen to it daily.
^this
fo' sho'
I hope this gets reviewd soon
I don't know if I should like it or not.
Actually lets guess what score DiS will award it.
im starting with 9/10
