Saw them at werchter and they were brilliant. Crowd were really loving it as well.
"The National are the greatest live band in the world."
this is not wrong
i've just queued a review which says as much
awaiting diver's subbing. absolutely blown away again on friday at wireless.
sweet
we all need a bit of indie rock in our lives, and it should definatly sounds like this
it amazes me the love they get on here
they are just bland run of the mill indie rock I can't see the appeal.
bye!
i have no particular love for them
but they were amazing at glastonbury. i saw them straight after Leonard Cohen and the fact that they didn't drop right off from that incredible high is an acheivement. they're not amazingly different or anything, just a very good band.
yeah thats pretty cool
they aint a band you can dislike just can't love them either. Just incredibly middle of the road, for me anyway. A band I could see myself enjoying when I'm a middle age dad with kids, but I can wait until then to enjoy them hehe
You are so entirely wrong
I don't think you have a soul.
hehe cool
my souls alright thanx.
^^I am with you jimitheexploder!
Really don't get them, a few of my friends swear by them and I have given their records a good listen but nothing. There are lots of bands I don't like but I can see why others do like them but with The National I still can't find it.
Each to their own though.
yep yep
I agree
^ No soul

shouldn't you be off listening to some TOTALLY EDGY LIKE WOAH music instead of posting in here, then?
yes
i concour, nothing groundbreakingly different. just good tunes, not often that happens...
i was in that tent
with you on the Sunday night.
Easily the best band i saw throughout that weekend.
wow, another National thread to make me jealous
dear everyone who has ever seen the National live: I HATE YOU, I HATE THE FACT I'M TOO DISORGANISED TO HAVE EVER GOT TICKETS AND I'M JEALOUS BEYOND BELIEF. there, you made me use caps, happy now?
^Loser
If its any consolation brusma
I've only seen them 3 times so far (4 on Saturday at TITP) and they were only great 2 of those 3, and amazing on the other occasion
absolutely incredible
at the EITS ATP. They completely owned that big stage and the atmosphere was amazing. Amazed they're not more popular to be honest, although expect them to move onto another level in the next year or so.
Didn't realise you liked the National
you've started to go up in my estimation. You're only at 'severe dislike' level now.
They were ace at Glastonbury
Shame no one was there to see it. Broke my heart seeing that half full tent.
Guy Garvey of Elbow was watching it. He seemed impressed
no wonder
it's what his shitty, boring little band have always tried and failed to sound like.
So much anger from someone so fresh faced
soz
dad
That's ok
Son
they
clashed with My Morning Jacket at Glastonbury, which was clearly Eavis SPITE.
The National's are as good a band as there's been.
Both of their last two records stand up against anything.
is there a video of this anywhere?
i sky+'d the glastonbury highlights and a quick scan didn't reveal any national, and i couldnt find anything on the bbc site last night.
they were incredible at ATP
ninety minutes of magic.
