You could be flying into Nice
or maybe Nimes or Marseille? Nice is closest to Cannes and St Tropez.
Definitely go to Provence.
***UPDATE***

Then check out all the places I listed
As they are all in the Languedoc Region of France

hah!! most definitely :p
I hate you.
Go to Nice. It's expensive that time of year... but the entire South is. Then get on a train and go to visit Cannes.. it's stunning around the coast. In fact, the train ride to Cannes is wonderful - right along the coast and only about 20 mins... Then get the train the other way and pop into Monaco and check out teh Eurotrash. Then hire a car and drive up into Provence... there's this amazing little church I visited which was built in 1300 or something and has original frescos. Argh... and a gorgeous stream running next to it... with mountain water which has melted from the alps. I will try to remember the name of the place. A little medieval village was also very close by. Christ I used to get around. I must get that travel bug back.
GOOD ONE, THO!
NEW JOB AND HOLIDAYS - lucky lucky Sarky!
