Was it as shit as the Daily Echo say?

No.

I enjoyed it.

To be honest mate, I don't even believe the date at the top of the page in The Echo. I remember a couple of years back they ran a front-page story about some Russian billionaire buying Saints, on the grounds that his boat was moored in Southampton Water. The headline might as well have been 'MAN FINDS SPACE TO PARK BOAT'.

Fair enough........

the reviewer was going on about how 'bored' he looked or something.

Who was it?

I might even know them. If it's the person I think it might be, they're not exactly a connoisseur.

As discussed in another thread, he does tend to look bored these days, but fiar fucks, he cranked out the hits when he could have thought 'these hicks are just happy I'm here' and played a load of new stuff and shit no one knew.

Also his new band (I believe a number of the old lot got tired of his crazy scientologist ways and fucked off) were great, managed to transcend the usua shit Guildhall sound, and featured a gorgeous girl on guitar (I realise this is irrelevant but thought I'd mention it anyway).

Some guy by the name of Patrick Gough

I quite like the Guildhall as a venue, haven't been there since Jurassic 5 played and that was getting on for two years ago.

is the sound really that bad there?

I've not been to many gigs in the guildhall and I know everyone says the sound is shit, but SFA and QOTSA both sounded really good in there.

well

they also thought the Super Furries surround sound gigs in there were shit too, and spent most of the time going on about Wales. So unless you're trying to feel better about having not gone, i'd say assume they're all Michael Bublé fans.

the echo

really is shit.
excepting for the stars which actually seem to be spot on most of the time. if you believe in hocus pocus!
