is bulmers nicer than magners even though magners costs more?

I think those ciders are far too mainstream

to appeal to the indie kids on here.

really?

jesus. i just singled out those three cos they are usually the most readily available at bars. im open to suggestions too.

Strongbow is just chemicals

Bulmers tastes like hot sick. So yeah, Magners is the nicest.

Have you tried Aspall cider/cyder? That's lovely.

Magners is probably the nicest

Although in general I'm not a massive cider drinker

Not sure if it really counts as "cider" as such as it's flavoured and whatever but Kopparberg's generally pretty nice. Can't have more than one though as it's incredibly sweet..

it IS sweet

its like dessert in a cup.

Also I swear

every few sips or so, I get the weirdest taste of butter (this is with the pear one)
This may just be me, but the whole Kopparberg drinking process is always a very bittersweet event

out of those 3

Magners.

magners

though i am partial to a bit of jacques...

i like that bar in the northern quarter that sells homemade cider

which is jsut called Orange Cider, because it's bright orange

and about 12%

Magners

i find Bulmers a bit too sickly, and Strongbow just tastes of chemicals

strongbow

even though magners is nice too

magners is wrong. tastes way too much of sugar.

strongbow is the easy winner.

Strongbow

The others are too sickly

magners wins of those

i like aspalls best of all though.

also i went to ikea yesterday and bought 24 cans of pear kopparberg for £19. win.

Magners and Bulmers are quite similar

I really like Strongbow then Magners then Bulmers but sometimes Magners goes down better than Strongbow but also sometimes my local shop has a deal on Bulmers

ooo

its a cider minefield

All of those are for metrosexuals (gays)

The Westons range are the best.

zomg katy's!

£3 a bottle at most haunts and it's like 3424324%. 4 units a bottle or something.

bang for buck!

Probably Bow

but so many better ciders...

Kopparberg

particularly the summer fruits one, tastes like Vimto but with more damage...

i heard

bulmers is the same recipe as magners from some drunken idiot, and is just cheaper because it's not an import. they do taste different so he's probably wrong + a drunken idiot.

strongbow is definitely based on the same recipe as paint stripper though.

magners for me. but that tastes diluted and does not get me drunk enough for its price.

fail4all.

naw,

magners and bulmers is apparently exactly the same. i don't like either, but whatever.
did you know thatchers do straight-from-vat sales at their factory? you just roll up with a petrol container or something and, bam. you'll be drunk for the next fortnight on a fiver.

please say it's brewed in herefordshire

otherwise i'm fucked.

got a feeling it's somerset. :(

been to weston's farm a few times for some of those vintage draught 2L things. it's cheaper than retail strongbow and taste so much better.

student doesn't mean tesco value! though you look like a pretentious cunt drinking it while others are on frosty's.

yeah.

westons = hereford, thatchers = somerset.
still, top notch. and fuck the haters, there's nothing better than a pint of Old Rosie, poured straight from a bag.

yeah

a colostomy bag more like! amirite fellas!?

Apart from Magners

I would never order any of the 3 provided, my love for Stoford is so great it has to be mentioned.

morrisons is turd

EXCEPT for the fact that of the 2 times i have been there in my life both times they have had Stowford Press 3 bottles for £6. good times.

Bulmers and Magners taste the same

Pear cider's nice, I had that a while ago.

I'd probably go for Strongbow as it's less sickly sweet than the other two. And it doesn't cost £4.

And you don't have to fart-arse around

with ice. 'kin ice.

cider and ice just shouldn't be mixed.

the drink's cold anyway!

srsly

cider's even good warm! old rosie, barnstormer, fiery fox - no chilling required really.
magners is almost undrinkable with a ton of ice in the glass with it.
i'll never be friends with someone who has ice in their cider.

I think Magners needs ice

its very light and it really doesn't taste nice warm. But you are right MOST ciders (especially proper ones) and scrumpys are best at room temp

but it usually comes from a fridge!!!

does not need to be colder than that!

THIS!

its fucking ridiculous!
it melts and waters down and ruins the cider. would you put ice cubes in a pint of beer?!?

ah, we agree on something for once!

<3 you summers.

The first time I ever met Bamos he was drinking a pint of cider with ice

It was the only thing that was dissappointing with him though

I don't comment on things that I haven't spent enough time judging.

Except music. Then I comment on everything, even if I've never heard it. It seems more fun that way.

thatchers is available in supermarkets

but rarely on draught.
Id rather drink blackthorn rather than those 3 or even gaymers or merrydown (but id rather not)
Wychwood brewery does a cider which is actually Thatchers (in a wychwood bottle)

Scrumpy is where its really at, unfortunately the scrumpy available in the supermarkets is normally westons (which is herefordshire cider I believe) You can sometimes get cornish scrumpy. But you should try to take a trip to somerset and get some real scrumpy from a farm (and some black spot cheddar whilst you're at a farm)

Keeping it local

Biddenden cider for me while I'm in Kent.

A yes, Biddenden cider

Lethal stuff.

arr.

good old kentish biddenden, or westons.

Magners and Bulmers ARE the same

In the south of Ireland its packaged as Bulmers, but in the north and the UK, and usually internationally its Magners.

and for the record, they're both disgusting.

magners

is probably best. Kopparberg is awesome too.

Brothers cider is nice but it's so deceptively strong and comes in such deceptively large bottles that it's actually quite dangerous.

Bulmers and Magners are really alike.

Both are better than Strongbow.

Kopperberg is heaven in the cider universe, but I don't think I could drink it all night, it's a bit sweet.

It looks like IRN BRU.

Which only increases it's brilliance.

Ooooh actually

Rattler, made in Cornwall, is AMAZING. Really really strong, and quite a crisp apple-y flavour. Westons organic cider is lethal, it makes me pass out...
