that the thread would receive more coherent responses if the Oasis had done something to stay relevant after, oh 1997 or so. They're like the Foo Fighters of the UK.
does anyone else find the similarities
between some of the Propeller / Bee Thousand era Guided By Voices songs and early Oasis kind of odd? Both very Beatlesesque in that very kind of laddish stompy lager rock way.
See Metal Mothers / Smothered In Hugs / Tractor Rape Chain (and others) ... all very Oasis sounding, but assumedly both bands were completely unaware of each others music at the time of writing the particular songs.
Fascinating. Probably.
