I think the 11 Bonnie "Prince" Billy albums would be biggest collection of one particular artist on mine.
At one point I probably had more than 11 albums each for the Stones, Dylan and Neil Young but had to cut them down due to lack of space.

Anyone going to this?
It's free and there are some awesome bands playing today like Exit Calm, Art Brut, Glasvegas and Six By Seven.
although i'm out and about elsewheres today. Reading
"* Make sure you get to the festival early on Saturday night. The Enemy are very popular and we expect to reach the event capacity."
made me lol though
it's changed a lot from the last few years - can't take your own alcohol now and there is a fenced off area with security and hand-held metal detectors. The outdoor stage seemed a bit on the small side. If it stays dry I might head up this afternoon to catch Art Brut. It will be over-run with Enemy fans though.
The weather spoilt it a little, as did a few morons throwing bottles, garden furniture and pretty much else they could get their hands on, but aside from that it seems like a fairly pleasant event. Exit Calm, Art Brut and Glasvegas all rocked it, although the sound levels could have been higher. We didn't stay for The Enemy....
...bunch of complete drunken dickheads in the crowd. I ended up leaving just before Art Brut because the crowd was getting worse and worse.
The sound wasnt the best. Certainly not loud enough. Six By Seven and Glasveags suffered from this I think. Shame, cos Six By Seven normally pound your bones live.
Exit Calm were great, and the band of the day for me.
Oh, and the first band, Dogfight Revolution, semmed pretty good, although I only arrived in time to catch their last track. They were a bit Spacemen3 sounding.

between Scott Walker and the Magnetic Fields.
5 albums a piece on my iPod.
12
I have a lot of live sets, so I have 81 Radiohead 'albums' according to iTunes. And I didn't mean 18.
it was Modest Mouse or Sonic Youth
Or Fugazi
cant be bothered to check
Incredibly - still Manic Street Preachers.
Got 7 Byrds albums and 8 Low albums on it too.
Quite a few Cocteau Twins, Grateful Dead, The Fall, Mercury Rev, REM, Super Furries amongst others.
6 albums each, followed by Sonic Youth and Radiohead with 4 each, would be more but have run out of space.
by a lot
Then Spoon and then Radiohead
by such a long way
back-catalogue-tastic
Followed by Nick Cave and Sonic Youth.
whoops, how did that happen?! Most of it is early stuff though so it's all before Bono got overly annoying...
Ryan Adams with 11
All the releases (except Best of) and 93 Feet East bootleg..
with 13 albums, 2 greatest hits, one live double album, and various rarities/live etc. Also DRIVE XV, the excellent tribute to Automatic For The People compiled by Stereogum.
I have more Ryan Adams tracks, but 11 albums, one EP, countless live shows/new live songs compilations, bonus tracks, plus 2 Whiskeytown albums.
they're pretty eclectic
5 albums, 3 compilations, 1 film score and numerous EPs, singles and rarities.
I have 14 Bob Dylan albums and 13 Beatles albums on there, but that's because the guy I bought my iPod off left all of his music on there for me to keep or delete as I pleased. But I don't think they count.
14 albums
but they're mostly bootlegs and silly remix albums and single songs tagged differently and stuff
have 19 on mine including ep's, live bootlegs and some rarities. I only listen to 2 of the albums regularly.
I have 9 Ryan Adams albums on my ipod, i listen to all of these.
10
how many is that?
9 (albums, ep, lives,etc.)
Less Than Jake would be next with 10 but I haven't copied them all over yet. INTERESTING.
owie
18 albums including most of the bootleg albums but they are listed as single albums.
16 Smog stuff, 17 as Callahan
15 Animal collective releases
14 Boris and friends
14 Sonic Youth(about 10 more with the side projects)
erm, woo for me.
also 6 pixies including greatest hits and live albums
6 also
Bob Dylan - 34
The Fall - 45
Neil Young - 43
I have edited a subset of these down to my ipod.
Do you have any space left for anything else?
costs about £70, no more worries about getting all your cds ripped, bargain
like the man asked.
or DJ Shadow probably have the most I think. Cooper Temple Clause and Boards of Canada come close though.
Velvet Underground - 6
or The Smiths
24
I have 20 Sonic Youth albums
Aphex Twin is probably about that too, if you count all his pseydonyms (AFX, Polygon Window, Power-Pill etc)
Radiohead
Yo La Tengo
Belle & Sebastian
Can
and Sonic Youth
a 16GB Touch but I've squeezed in all of Pavement/Malkmus/Silver Jews/various side projects, most Husker Du/Sugar/Mould stuff and all things Doves/SubSub
says I have '50' Biffy albums and 22 Smiths albums, but most of those comprise bootlegs and singles and whatnot.
In terms of actual albums it's probably Converge or Morrissey.
Thirteen recordings - ten albums, three EPs.
them or of montreal
6 solo albums, 2 cardinals album, 3 whiskeytown albums of which at least one is pretty much a solo album, a b-sides playlist and a bunch of bootleg releases.
of my entire 8GB ipod is purely Arab Strap...
Beck: 14
Low
then
prob:
yo la tengo
you like of montreal then? lol
which bits? not the whole thing surely...
But I'm not at liberty to discuss itt
of the Peel box set and both discs of 50,000 Fall Fans..., then I have 30 Fall albums on my iPod. I have a couple more but there's no room for them on my computer, and to be honest they're a bit crap anyway.
squarepusher
have 40 albums or something silly... not so much my fav but the band with most releases (live etc)
...so I'm wearing my headphones, and I start absently twanging the lead attached to one of the cans and I find that by varying the tension I can control which note I hear.
Conclusion: I have EAR BASS!!
...now, if I could find a way so that I'm not the only one, by definition, who could ever hear what I'm playing, I could be rich! RICH!
have the speaker bit on the outside rather than the inside!
cept I could change 80% of songs to instrumentals
What are you saying? That you came up with this before me? You want a fight?!
I am just completing my online patent application now.
I invented Earbass (tm) a couple of minutes prior to reading this thread.
Then all three of you lying fucks can expect correspondence from my solicitor. And let me warn you, this guy's an animal. They call him The Hammer.
i've just found a load of letters from my old penpal when i was like 9. it was pretty great having a penpal! i really miss having one (as sad as it sounds).
do you have/have you ever had a penpal?
he's called bic
took a while for me to get that one.
god i'm slow this morning :(
i was always far far far too lazy for that kind of thing.
i think id quite like one. its moar fun that the tinternet. i like recieving letters and wasting money on stamps.
i used to get super excited about the letters.
my brother had one though, a boy from sweden. they used to write about football and draw pictures of their favourite football players and mail them too each other. i always secretly wished i had a penpal.
everyone does.
even to this day i always hope there'll be some letters in the post. the only ones i get are from the doctors, "you have an appointment for a blood test", when i wish they read 'who you favrite playa? i liek alan sheera'.
i would ADORE a letter like this.
they had sketches of the players drawn in felt tip pen. amazing.
if we had a 9 year old pen pal nowadays we'd get done for paedophilia.
i want a swedish penpal.
Hey
do you really want a pen pal?
from 9th june though :(
think of the felt-tip sketches of alan shearer!
haha i used to get drawings in my old one!
she was from newcastle though, which isn't that far from me to be honest. but i used to imagine it was!
i might go and hunt out my brother's old letters and post what they say.
i'm from middlesbrough haha!!
awesome, you should come to a picnic in two weeks in newcastle we're having!
i'm going on holiday in just over two weeks, which means i can get jealous of everyone's tanned skin whilst i sit in the shade, burnt. damn celtic heritage.
i'll get back to you on that!
in a park i think haha.
One in Nepal, I can't remember his name, and one from Genoa called Massimiliano. I can't really remember what we used to write about though.
i'm no good with letters anymore, but i'm great with postcards
write to each other. he has the cutest handwriting and sends me amazing lyrics. i mostly just draw him pictures of people puking.
"the cutest handwriting" - I sound well gay!
all I get is a coy wink!
but she turned out to be a weird bible-basher type who kept trying to convert me.
and i recently acquired a dis penpal :D i forgot how much i like writing letters, i should do it more.
i had a Canadian one who was a girl that came to our school for six months in p.5 and became my best friend. now we just use Facebook which ruins it. Also, i used to write to my friend who lived in Nepal and now she's my next door neighbour so i just walk right into her house to talk to her. I would like another penpal.
She was brilliant, she used to send me cool little things and taught me my name in Japanese.
After we'd been talking for a couple of years she came to visit Scotland and stayed with me and some of my family at my Gran's holiday house. She knew loads of traditional Japanese games and it was just awesome.
But her dad died and she had to move onto a farm to work and I lost touch with her from about age twelve onwards. It's funny how different it'd be if we were still in contact now, we'd probably just e-mail.
I also had a Spanish penpal who I met when she was on holiday in Scotland. It was fun writing to her, but she wasn't a very nice person and I sort of deliberatly phased her out.
As laura_wolf said, we write each other letter from time to time. She send me drawings she does of people puking - I think she has an obsession or something. I like getting her letters, because she wastes her Moleskine pages too. She's seriously cool.
The pen-pal I've had longest is a girl from New York called Alyssa. She's a Jew, does her own tattoos, lives in Brooklyn and goes to Pratt Institute for art, but says she might get a transfer to GSA next year. Wow! She's seriously cool.
I also have two DiS pen-pals. Neat, eh? They're seriously cool.
Pen-pals: a SRS BSNS of cool.
it's about like spewing out WORDS not just spewing. that's my obsession. i am srsly cool.
p.s. yr a penpal whore i am never writing to you again. ok maybe once more cos i have something to tell you.
I want MOAR LETTURZ from you! Don't you want to see my cute handwriting more and more?
LOL
im going to write you a letter on the bus in a minute, bye x
x
You know how charming I am.
I'm new penpals with Tony poptimus off here. And also, I'm supposedly going to be receiving letters from someone else off here now that I have no internet (I'm visiting at my mom's right now), but we'll see.
i'd love a DiS pen pal :D
But it seems you have a drunk thread up now, so I'll go check it out, man.
pleased to meet you :)
But we'll see later about this penpal thing, alright?
just send me a pm :D
I've just scoured a tiny corner of the internet for penpals, and have sent some emails in the hope of finding a few. There don't seem to be many males searching for penpals though...
it got lost in the post, so now i stick to t'internets
Yo. I've got a spare ticket for COF tonight at the Luminaire. Face value (£12). If you're up for it, call me on 07877 491 463. Ta - Tommy
My "comedy" works on chavs/neds, cant WAIT for the phone call from the writing team behind Catherine Tate to ask me to join up!
I was just in a club and they came up to talk to us for some reason (think it was to borrow a lighter), i dont get much interaction with chavs so i thought i might test some of it out...they seemed to fucking love it ehich takes a bit of pressure off.
coz your mum is fowl in bed
yea your mums
gutted.
Keep it at that level. Then once you get the money, you can start being edgy. If that doesn't happen, then you'll at least know you're the enemy and put yourself up for some kind of collective retribution.
simply amazing. i could eat a full packet of these.
in fact, i will...
I just heard the new single Shine On, and have never been so offended in my life
anyone with me?
think we should deport them to australia
would cause them to sweat away to nothing!
for them exporting The Vines?
a well gash tune likes.
but are you sure that a mere petition is going to be enough? There is lot of Kooks-love around - there certainly is where I work, anyway. "Will you all please shut up about the fucking Kooks?!" It may take some form of armed insurgency to eliminate them and their followers for good. Even so, I am prepared to take whatever action is required.
i'm in.
tune that goes "I know, she knows..." or something. That's alright, no?!
I like that one.
But yeah, kill them.
i saw the video today on tv and was first time i heard it. what a disgusting song, even by kooks standards
on one of his own hairballs.
the track 'Eddie's Gun' too much to do this
i'd be happy to have them killed - i'll pull the trigger - i don't care
I like "Naive" a little too much.
But I agree, "Shine On" is scraping the barrel a little bit. Plus, how many other songs have there been written called "Shine On" or "Shine *something*" etc?
'shine my bellend'
what a fail
because otherwise there would be no one to feel superior to when then tell me they like shit bands.
Let's stop other people's enjoyment!
I'm becoming an indie boy again. I like indie.
the new kooks stuff is dire though.
conclusion: there are worse bands. scouting for girls anyone?
The Kokks
Scouting for Girls
The Hoosiers
8/10 if i'm not mistaken. That teletext service is a putrid joke.
this song on ch4 this mornin, well i say perform i actually mean mumble, surely they must realise how empty and uninspired they sound, and the guitarist/keyboardist looks like mickey from big brother. Was it on this site i heard the singer compare coldplay as they are right now to space oddity bowie?
Spackers.
cancel out any shit they do.
the simon amstell interview with them and it will make you feel much better.
always works for me.
I've got a week off, so I'm looking for stuff to do. I always end up going to the obvious places (the Tate, the Hayward, the National Gallery) and want to go somewhere new.
The Wellcome Trust was the last novel place I went to...so any unusual collections or places would be great suggestions
xx
at the Barbican Gallery?
i was at the barbican on thursday and not sure how substantial it looks (for the money) but i will probably end up going anyway
Seconded. There's also a book - The Cartoon Century by Timothy S Benson that you should hit, if you're into that shit.
What else is on? Ah, I see Tony Benn and David Davis will be having a 'conversation' "on democracy" in the South Bank Centre on Monday. They won't however, be concluding with a pistol duel.
Also, on monday, some geezer with a bowtie will be talking about Michaelangelo and the Sistine Chapel at the V&A. I'll bet that's not boring.
the second one sounds interesting but i'm not around on monday. i would definitely go if there was a pistol duel though :)
talks - definitely need to go to a talk at some point. normally i stand behind really clever people in galleries and just crib whatever they are saying
this may be quicker and more entertaining though. Thanks for the idea!
so go there anyway!
Hunterian Musuem and Sir John Soane's Museum are both highly recommended - both on Lincoln's Inn Fields.
Also the Horniman Museum in Forest Hill is well worth a visit.
I've been meaning to go to this since i moved to London (about 10 years ago) so yes! Good call. I've heard the Horniman is great, but have always put it off because of distance. That's on the list for this week now.
to get to when the East London line was still running. Less so now, but it's still not too difficult.
The Horniman is fab, really nice atmosphere and a fantastic musical instruments collection.
Step away from the stuffed great apes though, too sad.
My friend was trying to persuade me to go. Something about photographs of dead people.
or at least brings back warm and fuzzy memories.
ive been listening to this and its making me 12 again! http://youtube.com/watch?v=l-ITv4OBV9c
and also this
http://youtube.com/watch?v=Epow4VXhnW0
that song = womb times. it may not be great but i remember playing mega drive with that on the radio. well nostalgia!
she's evil there :
http://www.myspace.com/guvner
One of my 10 favourite songs ever, I think...
Download that !
And ENJOY !
Underworld - Bruce Lee
what I forgot to say
BABY BABY BABY
COME ON, WHAT'S WRONG?
IT'S A RADIATION VIBE I'M GROOVING ON!
DON'T IT MAKE YOU WANNA GET SOME SUN?
SHINE ON, SHINE ON, SHINE OOOOOOOONNNN!!
What a great song!!! :D
