JoFo must be at Astoria level now, surely?
i saw their album in HMV!
I was hoping that too =[
Will JoFo and Danana EVER play a under 18s gig in London?
Seriously, i've lost count the number of times I've tried to see either and been disappointed by being ID'ed.
where r oxfords?
nobody
bothers to go to gigs in oxford any more!
whaaaaaaat?
you mean the citizens of oxford don't attend? or the bands don't bother coming?
the former
mainly, unless it's some radio friendly nme covered bands etc...
it's a very niche market here but you gotta keep trying i guess!
Baaaaaarfly?
Rubbish, I hate Barfly.
nevermind
i'm on holiday then anyway :-D
falco?
hehe no
I was just being specific about Cardiff Barfly, it is shit.
yeah, but still,
dana coming to wales!
Sometimes I think bands do everything just to spite me
Not just bands - actors, sportsmen, solicitors... family members :'(
NO BRISTOL????
SAY WHUT!
Bath Moles though
Think I might make a day trip thataway
Why?
I was going to go visit a friend/ experience Fresher's week
OH, OKAY!
I might join you (y)
mmmmmmmm
weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell yeh. i might to...
trains run till 1 back into temple meads
willit be 16+
ill still be 17
:/
i wanna goooooooooooooooooooooo
it wont be will it
moles.
pooop.
meh
ill get away with it
i tried
to book both for our festival but were told they were unavailable, and they're not playing ANYWHERE on the sunday. BAH!
what festival?
NOONE TELLS ME ANYTHING!
sunday is our only day off for like, 6 days either side, i think. but, festival? too late?
oh!
s'nothing big :) PMed you about it anyway.
:(
We keep trying to book JoFo as well. And I bloody know em! But they're too much in demand for us these days....
*sad face*....!
I should refer everyone to a fact
that most American music fans have to literally drive for hours and hours in order to see bands they like, so please don't complain when we don't come right to your doorstep ;)
Anyone in any of these places pleased?
i can't drive
and my friends like shit music :(
Dananana
are playing Leeds this month. Dunno about Jofo though.
^10000000000000
yeah quite pleased
should be a good gig, though the stage is too high at madame jojo's.
too high?
Better than too low.
No such thing as "too low"
^ this
what if it's underground?
Yeah, it is a bit, i jumped off it once
and couldn't get back up :(
Rock and roll!
Not exactly
More like rock and roll mixed with fat porker. Pork and roll.
God, I'm so hungry :(
haha
see, that's the fear. with you guys and your crazy rockandrollways, the stage being so high might be a hinderance. people also seem very reluctant to dance in that venue and a lot of people stand up at the balcony.
i would complain EVEN MORE if i was in america
EVEN MORE
i remember an american friend of mine
once driving like six hours to see a band and considering it not a big deal :D
Exactly
People really do have it easy here in the UK.
No Leeds!
Rubbish tour!
No Leeds, no Bristol
Barely a tour at all!
yet derby and warrington?!
hang the booking agent!
To be fair
Jofo have played Leeds and Bristol in the last few months, you have to go to these other places too you know.
like oxford innit
**moan moan moan**
btw, do bands not want to come to oxford?
We played Oxford with Foals
It was radtimes. Had a nice pizza too :)
good stuff!
as long as oxford hasn't become the pariah of the music scene without me knowing
No, i don't think so
I'm personally looking forward to going back at some point later this year.
win for me
i'm sure i'll be in attendance
yeh i know
i'm just messing. I'm originally from derby, I'm allowed to diss the place. It's actually good to see decent bands start playing there now someone is making a go of things with 'the venue'. Before it was just metal metal metal...
woop!
hull here I come
.
Brighton tickets available now via www.wegottickets.com/oibrecords
The Albert only holds 125 so it's gonna be a rammed party!
JAG(of sorts)over
i think
i might come to the brighton show, actually, as well as london.
also
this is going to SLAY :)
this is like the days of the Ash / Placebo or Idlewild / Seafood tours
I think it's time for a new print magazine championing decent music - DiS go to glossy?
If I can get to that Northampton one
I'll be there. Any Northampton DiSers? Nah, thought not.
This aint on picnic
Go on play guntrips festival on the sunday.Who needs a day off really?
.
This aint *no picnic.Apologies.
my girlfriend is moving to milton keynes
i understand that this is near northampton?
I think it's pretty near
Yeah
leicester
again, well i am happy about this anyway.
i loved seeing the two only a month ago, so i'm glad you'll be back!
Liverpool....
....will be ace! Pity its in Korova becuase of the jarg sound but it'll be an ace show despite having to go on my own
Yeah,
liverpool shud be awesome. Last time with dananana in korova was loadsa fun, same for JoFo in the Barfly.
Does anyone know who's putting on the Liverpool gig????
getting on that bill would be aceness.
gcub,
wouldn't worry about heading down alone man, i'd say it'll be a friendly lot.
I love
how Leicester never ever gets any properly great young bands, except JoFo are playing it four times in 2008, twice with Danana.
Why on earth...
Do seetickets list the Charlotte gig as being cancelled?
http://www.seetickets.com/see/event.asp?e%7Cartist=JOHNNY+FOREIGNER&n|artist=null&resultsperpage=20&filler1=see&filler2=art-srch
it's not far
but the last train back is just after 11 iirc.
well
"not far" = about 20 miles.
that sounds ok
she won't be staying in milton keynes much anyway, her family will be. she'll be in brighton most of the time and in london with me the rest of the time :)
sickening
;)
get with the times, maaan.
also do you want to borrow strawberry jam on 12 inch? are you at comets on fire tomorrow?
I was!
just graduated from npton uni so gives me the perfect chance to go and visit friends there! do you see them at the roadmender in may?!?!?
Oh, no
I live in Suffolk, it's just it looks like Northampton is the nearest venue to me on this tour (ha). And it'd be too expensive to go to London.
I take it they were good then?
They were ace!
Was the first night of the last tour they were on. I got on stage with them for eyes wide terrified, a crowning momwnt in my life! seen them a few times now and cant get enough of them! the roadmenders a really good venue, id recommend u go!!!
danan are playing glasgow on my birthday
...that will be all.
No Manchester?
This makes me wish that gig-goers in Manchester weren't always shitbags that just went there to heckle the bassist to 'get her tits out'. And also that both bands could play in Leeds..
:(
gutted
no glasgow love both bands
Ooh, great news this
Was a great gig at The Cluny last month, think a stroll down to End Bar might be in order...
Hull
I never thought I'd be so delighted at a band playing in Hull; I support Everton and we're away to Hull on the 21st so I can combine the two perfectly. ACE.
They're both playing Offset too
Just got a message saying there's a few more bands confirmed - Johnny Foreigner, Hot Club De Paris, The Strange Death of Liberal England, Thomas Tantrum, The Victorian English Gentlemens Club. Ha and G*** O* F*** of course :-)
NO GLASGOW GIG???
w to the t-f.
No Sheffield gig lol
Slightly surprised they're playing the Yardbird
From what I remember from the few times I've been there it's only small and usually has jazz/funk/whatever bands. Still though, yay!
in Hull?
The day before my birthday? Oh YES!
Brighton
The Albert is a pub, venue upstairs and small. i can see this being moved to a larger venue. Please OIB records dont do that
End Bar
in newcastle is a weird choice of venue, was there for errors the other night and its really small, must only hold about 80-100 people!
Just out of interest, what happened to the D'kroyd dates with foals that were on their myspace a few weeks ago?! Are they still supporting for some of the tour or does it clash with this tour?
it
hurts to join the rest of the "HEY! no [place] gig!? wtf".
but, why not.
wheres cornwall? lol
This thread makes me sad
i know
in america you have to drive for ages and stuff
Stop it
Birmingham Yardbird
Hey,
We are promoting the Birmingham gig at the Yardbird. Normally a jazz funk venue, but its one of the only independent places in brum, and is run by people who love music which is pretty rare we've found..We run an alternative night there called Flux.....
http://www.myspace.com/thisistomorrowuk
Its gonna be a great night, and the line up is gonna be sweeeeeeettttt....
X
no dannanananan
in York :(
I will have to go see yaon ya own with this fucking tank in Leeds soon then I guess.
