i'm thinking about getting one.
the W890i to be precise, i know it's pretty standard now but are Ericsson's the way forward? and from personal experience which network would give me the best deal/coverage with it?

I have a SE w880i
Can't complain. In fact I'd go so far as to say it's excellent. Mind you, I had a Motorola previously which probably makes it seem ten times better than it actualy is.
Motorolas are ewwwy
HELLO MOTO!
I have no interest in a phone that's not an SE these days.
They're immense.
you just described a phone as 'immense'
that doesn't sit right with me.

O Carolina Jumbrala.
they're great
apart from the stupid joysticks which still remain an issue and often get fudgy after a few months.
Mine doesn't have a joystick.
It has a flat disc. To be fair that's exactly why I picked the W810i after having joysticks on the last two be shitty.
The weird thing was how frothing the guy in the O2 shop got when I said I didn't want one with joystick because they all go wrong. He was trying to suggest I had no evidence to back this claim up. Yeah, that was right except for my last two SE phones and everyone else I knew with an SE phone.
Apart from those 8 separate cases or whatever, and numerous internet posts dedicated to fixing the issue, there was definitely no evidence at all that the joysticks were prone to get a bit shitty.
My joystick's ok 10 months on
The phone broke last Wednesday, but the joystick still works.
Anyway, on the original thing, what's best depends on how much you're willing to pay/how much you use your phone. It's really difficult to recommend anything without knowing that. For coverage, all the networks (I think) have checkers on their website, so use that to see what it's like in your area. Certainly T-Mobile, 3 and Orange do.
