Vs

British- The cure, The smiths, Joy Division (sort of),

cant decide!

Both

excellent. I'd probably go for British but I wouldn't fight over it.

i think im inchin towards american...

mainly due to the pixies

American by a country mile

Yes we had Gang of Four and Wire and PiL but nothing came close to that triptyche of Mission of Burma, Minutemen and Husker Du.

nothing came close except

gang of 4, wire and PiL?

Why choose the goths to rep the UK though?

You're on to a loser from the start with that miserable lot.

What about Half Man Half Biscuit, The Fall, PWEI, The Pastels, Wedding Present, Felt, House of Love, Sundays, J&MC, Primal Scream, June Brides etc etc

And

World Domination Enterprises, ACR, Death in June, a whole slew of United Dairy bands, even Killing Joke.

American

every. single. time

Sonic Youth, Husker Du, Minutemen, Dinosaur Jr etc etc etc

The Wedding Present

Jesus & Mary Chain
My Bloody Valentine

Don't forget...

Fugazi...

Yeah

American all the time. Although I love 80s US indie rock so I would say that. Also the Replacements, Descendents, early REM, Meat Puppets. Its no contest really.
