I'm going to buy a XBox 360 Premium in the next month or so - does anyone know of any good bundles available at the moment?
I want to buy it on the high street so things don't get too stressful if I have to return it on the account of the dreaded red rings....
Also - what are the ways to get it working on the internet wirelessly? Is there any options which don't involve the really expensive official Microsoft wireless adaptor?

and tell them what you want and they will make you a deal usually. My boyfriend wanted one a couple years back, and I said what games he wanted and controllers etc and they cut me a deal. They did the same with my DS to an extent, I didn't want a tennis game with the bundle pack, so for £5 I got brain training instead.

as a ps3 user i can only say i dont think youre making the right choice
but as a gaming fan i think its absolutely imperative (sp?) that you buy call of duty 4 :)

and none of my friends have them so game swaps and cheaper games would be out of the question.

I found zavvi had the best deals, so that's where i got mine. 3 good games with the premium xbox for £250.
they were a little bit flexible too, i haggled to get the games i wanted. I went into Game and they wouldn't budge at all - but it probably depends on the sales assistant that serves you.

that a US price drop/upgrade would be followed by something similar in this country; Microsoft haven't really been too bad with inequal prices across regions. Not like bloody Sony, anyway.

I think you pretty much have to send it back to MS no matter what if you get the whole red ring thing. I bought one from Woolies, and they made a whole song and dance that it wasn't their responsibility..

the problem of the red ring is supposed to be gone now
i don't want to get too techy here, but apprarently they changed something to stop the thingy what was causing the red ring problem.
the theory is that shops will now only stock the new batch of consoles that don't have that problem.
As far as I understand it
the main chip microsoft spent fuckloads of money on developing was being manufactured somewhere in Eastern Europe by the lowest bidder for the contract. Somehow, some way, they did a bad job. So the chip melted after a while. I hat microsoft with the passion of a thousand suns. But god damn it i love Ninja Gaiden...

year before last, they have a lot of good deals there. I think a bundle's the best way to go.. have a word with high st places and see what deals they can do for you.
Apparently red ring failures are a lot less common with the newer models- they've altered the design a bit. Mine got it after a year and a half, came back repaired after 2 weeks, it really wasn't too much hassle.
I think you're making the right choice if most of your friends have xboxes, xbox live is good fun. You have to pay for it but I've found it to be the easiest and best experience of online gaming i've had.

The single player is absolutely fantastic, but multiplayer (apart from free mode with mates) is really unfun.
Complete opposite to Halo 3 really, with baddd single player and fantastic multiplayer
i totally agree Halo3 sinlge player is just average though
on live is brilliant, so fast, in game and you don't hang around in the lobby long either. Send me a friend request ^ play a bit of halo3 sometime.
