which is endearing. nothing original though. i think its one of those things where if you see them live and you're in a good mood, they could blow you away.

for how long though. They seem like a band that people will tire of quickly.

Their last couple of singles have been alright. Don't think they're quite prepared to release an album just yet, though. But that's the way the industry works now, unfortunately.

that new single, Geraldine, I think I'll probably hate it by the end of the summer though.

i really like them though but i think i prefer there older under produced demos rather than the new versions of old songs

until you realise all their songs sound the same. I enjoyed them but wouldn't rush out to buy a record.

but when that trick's sounding like the Mary Chain fronted by Roy Orbison, I'm not complaining. Go Square Go was ace at Glastonbury.

Then got bored of it. Then hated everying else they've put their name to. Shame.

They were by far and away the worst thing on Jools Holland last series. My God. I don't know what song they played but after hearing it I never want to hear another song by them ever again.

Shit band name + irritating voice + no discernable identity or presence = arrrrgghhhhhh!

they're fantastic. Saw them live at The Roundhouse, brilliant show. Great, shimmering sound, lovely songs. And the guitarist could have any of you.

awful. The riff is boring and repeats itself throughout the entire song. Plus, it contains the line "My name is Geraldine, I'm your social worker." Urgh.

I absolutely can't stand them. He can't sing, they never used to sound liek that, delay is not a substitute for a tune, the use the word 'shodder' in almsot every song, they make me ashamed of being Scottish.

I always want to like Glasgow bands for obvious reasons but I find them really dull.
Their sound is boring and offers nothing new, his voice grates and I think the band are just ok players.
For me they seem to be an emperors new clothes kind of a band.

I just missed out on the 90s and hated pretty much everything this decade. It's great to finally stand in front of a band at a small venue and be completely blown away. I'm seeing them tonight. Long live Glasvegas!

But a decent and creative chef will make a shit hot cheese on toast out of it, with perhaps 3 types of cheese, some lea and perrins - fuck it, maybe a cheeky bit of marmite underneath and some cherry tomatoes to garnish!

Ie, there's a reason everyone says they're a mix of JAMC and The Ronettes. It's coz there ain't a lot else going on.

I could be nice and say they have some decent hooks and a differnet sound to a lot of the stuff that comes up on the radio...Or...If you really want an honest opinion:

When I listen to them I hear little more than repackaged 50's doo-wop songs drowned in delay and reverb so you cannot notice how comparatively poor they are at playing their instruments. Overly self-aware references to various hallmarks of supposed gritty Scottish-ness sung in such a ludicrously dense and over-accentuated way as to verge on parody, which seem to be mistaken by most of the tastemakers as a shortcut to authenticity. Some of the lyrics are so clunky they hurt and the fact they are representing Scottish music means that tonnes of great bands from up here (who don't sound so immediately Scottish but are probably miles better) will be passed over in favour of more column inches going to these guys flying the flag like an NME-friendly Proclaimers.

Don't hear enough variety in their songs or live set to think they could make their much overused sound spin out in length to an interesting album, let alone two. Another case in point in the perils of "NEWNEWNEW!" hype and style over substance.
