I didn't know what one of those words meant.

actually, i did that too

fuck me, i can't even remember properly. I spelt fine, but thought taciturn meant firendly (or something). I actually thought it meant subtle, so i had to kinda guess.

Full marks :D

And so I should, given that I write for a living.

Do you think I can put this on my CV?

i should do

it can't do any harm, it probably has more value than GCSEs nowadays

IT WAS HARDER WITH THEIR EARLIER STUFF

18/20

i didn't know what two of the words meant :(

i'm so stupid

that the quiz won't even work for me. It just comes up with 'you scored 0/10'

lol

18

I FAIL.

20/20

yay

it doesn't work for me

pools panel says 15, internets win

18.

15/20

I'll have another try.

18

20/20

Do I get to write for a living now?

sorry to anyone who got 20/20,

you're not actually clever. because I got it too.

uh oh :(

10/20

20/20

all hail me

12/20

Had to guess most of them.

I think my personal favoruite was

Cathy and Brian winning the lottery, but then splitting it 5:2

WHY STOP THERE CATHY, TAKE THE CHEATING BASTARD FOR EVERY PENNY HE'S GOT

17/20

BOSH

oops, 18

i clicked the wrong button on one. but i'd worked it out right.

yeah that was kinda my reasoning

it was the laptop one.

Some of them i wouldn't have had a clue without multiple choice

17

i don't think i've done any algebra since i left school/uni.

18.

but there was one i couldn't really be bothered working out so i took a wrong guess..

pfff

you're excuse is invladilated

Full marks

Which, considering I can't spell my own username properly, is mighty impressive.

19/20

just as well considering I make a living from writing BBC billings

20

I'm ecstatic

18

how the hell would "I've just found my long lost brother" not have an exclamation mark at the end? of course it fucking would, that question is retarded

not necessarily.

but it should definitely have a hymen.

Hahaha!

that didn't need an exclamation mark

unless you are sadpunk

to be fair, it should have had one

"i've just bought some beans, cleaned the front room and found my long-lost brother"

as if

18

Mistook the simile for something else, and didn't get the hyphen

20/20

and i'm rubbish at english.

I was always taught

a simile was a kind of metaphor.

It's like a metaphor

except it isn't

19

Stupid "accommodation".

19

Avarice >:@

20 out of 20!

One was a bit of a guess though - does 'long lost brother' REALLY need a hyphen?

oh and I got 17 in the maths one

but at least 5 of those were just lucky guesses :(

18

hyphen?

Full marks.

The only challenge there was a couple of the synonyms, surely? People really should know all the grammatical stuff.

yeah i agree

:)

only cos those are the two i got wrong. still feeling pretty ashamed about that though. i'll claim they teach 'em differently in oz. yeah.

17

i'm ashamed i couldn't spell fucking necessary.

and the hyphen thing? wankers.

i also got the metaphor one wrong, and for that i feel i must resign from life.

20/20

but I guessed what avarice meant

19/20

My Editor will be pleased.

Pah Only 19

I spelt acccommmodation wrongly
