Sigur Ros vs World Cup Final

Oct 2007

Amiina in a twee icelandic church Vs Rugby World Cup Final w/ England

glasto 2008

crystal castles vs actually ever making it home alive. home won out.

you didn't really need to worry

a) crystal castles set got cut short after 4 terribly short songs. they got turned off and..

b) we left literally as The National finished and got out of the site in 20 minutes. i was in my own bed by 2am. lovely.

animal collective v de la soul

de la won after ten minutes of AC's set.

also Art Of Fighting v Psarandonis was difficult.

the worst was probably Jaga Jazzist v Jai-Alai Savant at the Mars Volta ATP. two bands i LOVED but never thought i would see live. i chose Jaga Jazzist, and luckily Jai-Alai Savant did a second set.

you better have

seen psarandonis. they are AMAZING.

my memory says that...

i managed to go and watch jai-alai savant, and when i got back upstairs jaga jazzist were still setting up. lucky me, i guess.

Bjork vs Spiritualized Acoustic Mainlines vs Four Tet vs Hot Chip

Spiritualized was clearly the "value for money" as Pierce and co played until 2.15am

Arctic Monkeys were on at the same time too.

I couldn't decide, so drank a massive amount of pear cider instead. Watched Bjork but don't remember any of it, then spent about 2 hours stumbling around the campsites on my own trying to find Spiritualized. Failed. Missed everything.

and Squarepusher

glad i watched Bkork though

never happened to me at a festival

but being in Fabric while there is amazing music in every room you just know you are missing something ace where ever you are.

Great escape this year was fucked up for this

Friday night it was either:

Iron & Wine, Okkervil River, Beach House & a bunch of others which I don't quite remember but was devestated they were all playing at the same time. Okkervil River won out in the end because the support acts were brilliant (Sunset Rubdown & A.A. Bondy)

Last year

at Leeds it was Battles or Arcade Fire, AF won, but as soon as they finished we ran over to Battles and caught their last two songs including Atlas so it worked out fairly well.

^^

i too had the same issue at Reading.

bastard

we tried that at Reading and caught half a song.

Battles shat all over Arcade Fire

I thought AF were terrible from the two songs I saw.

glasto 03 closing

tricky, doves, buena vista people and squarepusher

went to tricky, was dire so down to doves, last couple of songs were beautiful with campfires everywhere, past buena vista who'd finished, then squarepusher went on for a while and was wicked.

Clap Your Hands... vs Amy Winehouse

I wanted to see ol Winey just so I could knowledgably say "She is incredibly boring"

Armand Van Helden vs Unkle

Unkle won.

Oh and

Jimmy Eat World vs Sick Of It All

I ran between the 2 tents (luckily they were next to each other).

Glastonbury 2008

Spriritualized vs Leonard Cohen

Leonard Cohen won and was amazing but then I found out Spriritualized played Cop Shot Cop so was a bit gutted!

Edan Vs HEALTH Primavera 08

I chose Edan but regret it now. Seeing HEALTH in August though so it's not all bad.

None really bad so far

But at Latitude this year I have the impossible decision of Grinderman vs Blondie vs Wave Pictures vs Black Lips.

Grinderman might prevail I think.
