i dont know which album is which

but 'oh god' into 'the protagonist..' is one of my favourite pairings of any album ever.
lovely band.

that's on the first one

there's also an EP between the two called 'phages' but i think that was tour only. i downloaded it from somewhere a while ago, it's really good as well.

did you see them when they toured over here? i bought a ticket to the london show they did with the ruby suns supporting without realising it was the monday of Explosions ATP. so i didn't go :(

i saw

them at notts-to-dot. the show was fun, but sound problems hampered it. the singer couldnt get any Ralph in his monitor.

do you mean Population?

I think its the weakest of the three (still good though)Phages is the best IMO

although

according to wikipedia, Phages is an EP so ignore my comment :D

I have 3

Underwater Cinematography, Phages, and Population. Are there others? I likes 'em. I wouldn't go as far as MikeD did suggesting they're better than their soundalike label mates, BSS, but yeah, excellent band. And yeah again, loving the cover art is a very good sign. :)

whcih one would you recommend?

I've heard of those guys and would like an opinion on the most accessible album. Cheers

"underwater cinematogragher

is the first LP and probably the best place to start. it's all fuzzy and pretty and has great song titles.

"underwater cinematographer"

obviously.

on the list

Cheers

Population is excellent.

Quite Youthmovies-ish, I would say.

Population is great.

It reveals its chars quickly, and you might not go back to it much.. but while the rush lasts.

I've listened to it a few times

and really tried to like it, but it's still passing me by! Am I wrong in the head? (Just when it concerns this, please, I'm aware of my other wrongities, ta.)

Phages

is the best thing they've done. I really hope they don't take too long to come back here, they were amazing at the Captain's Rest.

^ this

Shopping Cart People is such a tune

they're nice people

my band played with them at the night and day, wooo! oh and their songs are ok...

I adore

Stay Ups. Just wow.

Second album is a bit better than the first for me

but still lacking a little something, like the band isn't the finished deal yet.
But I'm quite qure they'll release something great someday.

I would say

the great thing they released was their Phages EP. They're worth investigating further. I was convinced Population was going to be my favourite record of last year, but aside from the exquisitely-crafted "Present of Future End", it hasn't measured up to my hype yet.

For the curious, check their MySpace page, they've got a good cross section of their best tracks up there, including a brilliant BSS mash up of Guilty Cubicles.

i would

second the above in terms of the album not quiet doing it for me but 'present of future end' is unbelievably good for sure
