hello
my band has put up a free download on the genepool records/distribution website
It is a ukelele-lead 1930s-style ballad, with a backing band featuring flutes, clarinets, trombones, tubas, bassoons and the like. And harmonica!
It's from our debut album out at the end of the year, which is off being mastered by Alan Douches (Feels, Come On and Feel the Illinoise)in NJ.
Similar bands we've played with include Loney Dear, Fanfarlo and Field Music.
OK, PR bollocks over. Sorry.
If you're into Cradle of Filth then it might not necessarily be your "bag". Although i'm being presumptious there.
You can listen to it here:

and download it here:

Thanks, any feedback would be much appreciated for better or for worse
mmmmm this is really good.
It sounds like Jon Brion's stuff or something. Really ace. thankyou!
I
quite liked the song, thanks. Have emailed for the free mp3, which I will hopefully listen to more than via myspace.
Sometimes sounds good. Similar appeal to Held By Hands.
Shame it wasn't a Britney cover but I guess that would be asking too much. I'd definitely be interested in hearing a collection of songs in a few months. (=Permission to re-JAG)
i like it a lot
more!!
thanks
didn't think anyone would reply
Appreciate the Jon Brion comparison, he's like, my hero, but only in the amount of instruments/vintage recording equipment he owns
Will check out Held By Hands too
Wow, permission to re-JAGGGGGG, i'm honoured (that's not me being sarcastic)
yipee got a call from a mate
who heard it being played by gideon coe on 6Music tonight
Come on people! download it! it's free! it's not shit I promise!
your stuff's good!
really fucking good. This song just feels like it would fit perfectly on the eternal sunshine soundtrack or punch drunk love soundtrack. real dreamy and hazy but gorgeous.
i like a lot!
thanks mate
btw are you involved with gossamer albatross?
yes!
I am the singer. Do you like our stuff?
yeah
mutual appreciation society! hurrah
I see you got on the bill for EOTR!
well done, I sent them a link but to no avail. Our booking person manages to get loads of her acts on there in the traditional way, but not us, we're not famous enough hehe
We should sort out a gig together or summat. We're in london
bump
bump
bump
it's raining it's pouring
I've just seen your myspace bulletin
about a gig in London on Tuesday. Do you have more songs to listen to anywhere, as I'm not sure if one song on its own is enough to tempt me to a gig!
ugh yeah I took them all down on our myspace
you can listen to some of our old recordings on itunes
Our sax/glock/harmonium player is away so we'll be good I promise!
