it's great compared to the second half of last year

when my mum and dad both got ill at the same time about a week after my first rat died and stuff. this year is brilliant.

Band difficulties like gigs and general creative frustration
My job
Having to pay lots of rent

So basically everything has an up and down.

Meh.

I actually don't think a single thing

worth mentioning has happened this year. I started driving and failed my first test. That's been about it.

Pros

- possibly not progressing to the second year of university due to aforementioned laziness
- my hair

*hair

though you have a wonderful air about you too

:D

thanks, on both accounts, but i think my hair is just a bit too long now and i keep having to adjust it and i look like one of those guys who, you know, cares about his hair.

is that your girl in the picture

i can only see half her face; but she looks pretty :]

SCORE!

thanks :D

the other half of her face is just as nice :)

cons:
no friends
no school
being ill and going to hospital each day
not sitting any gcses
daytime tv

I think there's been more pros than cons

Pros

-FINALLY seeing Dan Deacon.
-The last gig I put on with Shitmat, Scotch Egg and Justice Yeldham.
-Seeing Buraka Som Sistema
-Meeting some lovely people who I intend to keep in touch with
-My promotion
-My Dad finally back on track with limiting his alcohol intake and being a proper parent to my sister
-My nephew learning to say my name (Jooooooo)
-Seeing Rolo Tomassi for the first time and nearly crying with happiness

Cons

-My sister's illness getting worse leaving her spending most days in bed/in a wheelchair
-CPWK splitting up
-My Grandad having a stroke
-Me realising what a nasty person my Auntie is (although this could be a pro in some ways...)
-My ex telling me he still loved me and wanted us to get back together, us sleeping together then him saying 'actually I just want to be friends'. A major headfuck that I still haven't really got over.

....

Pros-
I know that I'm finally leaving Manc land.
I got out of a shitty poo relationship.
Had loads of money to spend on records.

Cons-
Most cringeworthy moment ever.
Still have to sort out all of the moving stuff.
Don't really know many people where I'm moving.
Ex issues.
Had to sit behind a shit ridden old bloke for four hours.

"Most cringeworthy moment ever"

DO TELL!

it was MY most cringeworthy moment ever.

I'm sure Larry David has had worse.

was it that time

you pooed on the coach?

No, a friend that I fancy

came round to my house. I was going to let her know how I felt, but realised that rejection was imminent. I therefor decided to walk her home at the end of the evening and run away. This went like clockwork.
The next day, a certain young lady from this very website texted asking how it had gone. I replied with a blow by blow account. Now this is where it went a bit wrong, because I sent this to the girl that had been round instead of to my friend. I then had a really embarrassing encounter, where I got knocked back. I HADN'T EVEN ASKED though, which was really unfair!

I've done this

I feel your pain.

thanks,

I had a good old moan about it at the time.

...

Pros:
- Buying a flat

noisy electronic pop-punk

ew. that sounds bad. they're awesome and were meant to be brilliant live

i see :)

right

pros:

seeing plenty of gigs
MBV
finally managing to save up a decent wedge of cash
getting my operation done with no complications
setting a departure date from this job

cons:

having nobody to go to aforementioned gigs with
making no friends in London
boring job
crap living arrangements
still no love life
not doing any festivals this year

wouldn't mind just getting this year out of the way to be honest, it's been largely uneventful.

Sure

Pros:

........
............
uh...
...okay, there's actually seriously nothing.

The number of times I've stepped out of the front door this year is quite probably in double digits.

Cons:

You know, I really just don't care enough about anything for there to be cons.

Not that I'm saying

that my outside count being in double digits is a pro.

Can I just classify the whole year under "who cares, really?", or something?

who cares?

really?

Exactly

thinking I've finally got this career malarky on track
recording a mini EP, where the hell that came from I'm still not too sure

Not getting any notice and only getting a further weeks wage exactly 4 weeks before having to put down a deposit, month's rent and agency fees on a new house.

Discovering an entertaining new boy who makes me laugh a lot and feel less idiotic about being clumsy.
Finding time to sit, think, write and think some more.

Cons:
Getting paid well to do a job you love is a myth.
Having to give in to the London mentality and sell my beloved car.
Breaking off my engagement with my childhood sweetheart.

My Dad's insistence that 4 heart attacks and a stroke means it's too late to give up smoking and drinking.

Wel...

Pros
Life
Being more sensible
Small abundances of money
Getting bits of work off the back of stuff I've done
The ongoing greatness of music

Cons:
The early end to the FA Cup Run. But even this will be made better by the imminent arrival of the FA Trophy Run.
That really is about it.

Then I'll rack that in the 'pros' column. We'll get some Coffee House in during July/early August.

Oh sorry tom

did you want me to do a big fawning message about you?

EVERYONE, I MOVED IN WITH TOM IN JANUARY AND NOW HE IS MY BEST FRIEND. I CAN'T SPEAK HIGHLY ENOUGH ABOUT HIM.
