This record is shit. She simply cannot sing - her voice is so weak it has to be heavily reverbed and sythesised to disguise it's horrible tone and lack of expression. The production is good and with any other singer it might have worked well, but Scar-Jo just turns it into a turkey basically. Try the 'She And Him' album by M Ward and Zooey Deschanel instead, it pisses all over this.

The Johannson album actually grows on you, because it sounds so weird, trying to carry the weak voice.
The 'She & Him' album is merely competent and painfully 'stage school'.

I agree that she doesnt seem to have much of a voice but the album works quite well i think.
Although without the excellent production i think it would fall pretty flat.
i'm slightly dismayed by the fact...

Tracks I've heard seemed ok, decent enough production, but not my cup of tea anyway.
I'll admit to only checking it out because she is so unbelievably fine.

in the new york dolls. but tom waits just gets better with age. roll on 27th july.
