Off to TITP soon, and know lots of the major acts obviously, but wondered if any smaller ones might have escaped me. Any recommendations people?

twilight sad & frightened rabbit blates
also yeasayer and we are the physics.
not a bad festival this year
Justice in Slam Tent could be fun
The National in the Pet Sounds.
Prodigy for a Sunday closer on the NME stage.
Holy Fuck in the new little tent named after a drink I can't remember.
The Presets in there also.
Ben Folds in the Pet Sounds.
Frightened Rabbit (although may clash with Prodigy)
Would be some of my choices, but sadly I'm not going. Good line up this year, far better than 2007.
and...
Aphex Twin, DJ Hell and Miss Kitten & The Hacker are all on Sunday in Slam Tent.
Metronomy in the forgotten-the-name-of tent.
Deus on the NME stage.
This has made me feel sad.
Yeah, Twilight Sad and Frightened Rabbit are must sees
Yeasayer and The National as well.
I'd also recommend Shels, Joe Acheson Quartet, Devil Sold His Soul, My Morning Jacket, The Xcerts, Aphex Twin, Be A Familiar, Jaguar Love.
Chances are you're already aware of a few of those. I'm starting to get a bit excited about it actually. I should probably buy a tent.
I only know Aphex twin out of all the above actually
What are the others like?
Cheers al_la, I have most of those on my radar, though I will likely opt for REM over Prodigy purely because I've not seen REM live before, and I grew up on them, and they're playing Electrolyte on this tour again.
Besides, The Prodigy would be downhill after they cranked out Girls anyway...
Sorry Chris64
I knew yeasayer / national etc, it was just the bands from the "I'd also..." part
Yeah, if you haven't seen REM I'd go for that,
fingers crossed for a pounding version of 'leave' also. Unlikely, but you can hope.
Saw Prodigy for the first time 2 or 3 TITPs ago closing the sunday and it was amazing. Hardly had the energy to stand before they came on, but the atmosphere in the crowd was brilliant.
Enjoy!
Yeah, I'm a little torn between Aphex and REM to be honest
Shels are post rock with flashes of emo (in a good way), former members of Eden Maine and Mahumodo. JAQ are an acid jazz band from Edinburgh. DSHS deal in ambient metal. MMJ are kinda southern tinged alternative pop I guess you would call it. The Xcerts and Be a Familiar are folksy pop bands and Jaguar Love is ex members of Blood Brothers and Pretty Girls Make Graves.
A myspace view would obviously do them all more justice than my simplified explanations though.
*and Waxwing
zoey van goey
Are playing the t break stage, and are rather wonderful.

Jaguar Love
are weird aren't they?
my friend andrew once he's mashed
he'll prob climb up something, fall asleep, fall off, and cave his face in.
you can touch his face for free.
id say the national, seasick steve, battles, holy fuck, mgmt, JoFo, dusty kid, modeselektor, damian lazarus, ritchie hawtin, los campesinos.
my mate from
secondary school is the singer in Shels.
Loads -
Twilight sad frightened rabbit twin atlantic biffy clyro the national interpol...
FUCKED UP
I guarantee they'll put on the best show you'll see all weekend.
So punk that they refuse to have a My Space profile.
Twilight Sad
are amazing aren't they? Why on earth don't I listen to you people sooner?
They might be my new Arab Strap
Also:
I found this on another forum. It seems to be stage times
Link might help

DEVIL SOLD HIS SOUL
IF YOU LIKE AMBIENT ART METAL HARDCORE THAT IS.
It's slightly irritating that:
REM, The Prodigy, Hot Chip, Primal Scream, The Presets & Aphex Twin are ALL on at exactly the same time.
Why oh why, when before that there's a crock of shit for 3 hours (barring The National & Holy Fuck). Grrr.... That's going to be a very hard decision to make.
I saw REM in new york on this tour and they played quite alot of I.R.S stuff
was good. The TITP lineup this year is farking ridiculous(ly good)
Yep saw them last weekend in Belgium
Something from every album apart from Murmur (Boo) and Around the sun (yay). Excellent show, they started off with Orange Crush and just got better (Drive, Electrolite, Driver 8 and a wonderful version of Let Me In). I would say see them over anyone else.
Yeah they win hands down
for me purely as Bang & Blame started my modern crusade to find better music. Plus, Primal Scream haven't cut it for a few years, I saw the Presets earlier this year and I've seen Aphex Twin twice. hot Chip always look a bit dull on TV too, so would begrudgingly leave The Prodigy and watch REM.
But the thing is, before that on the 2 main stages there's Kings of leon, PATDisco, Charlatans, Pendulum, Counting Crows & Goo goo dolls. All terrible.
Why not have one or two of thsoe great acts further down the bill? Oh well... Otherwise the line up is pretty damn decent (Sunday more so than Saturday I'd say)
Oh dear those others don't look so good
KoL are ok, but can't see how they are so massive, seem to have got more popular as their output has gone downhill. Clashes (especially the ones following non-clashes) are always frustrating but that just looks silly.
