The thing I like most about Pitchfork

...is when they decide to give explaining current British pop culture to an American audience a go. For example: http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/page/news/51098-jarvis-peaches-kills-gary-numan-play-boosh-fest

And the absolute pinnacle was when Goldfrapp did their Guest List and Alison had to explain what Harry Hill's TV Burp was.

Same deal as The London Suede

The Charlatans was the name of a 60s acid rock pioneering band, so with "our" Charlatans too well established by the time they were signed in the UK they had to find a compromise.

I'd often felt I could use an interpreter on the social board

and have since given up. Warm alcoholic beverages, driving on the wrong side of the road, georgie accents, scotch eggs, fox hunting... the cultural gap is just too wide!

*Geordie

:-)

Eh, can you repeat that?

heh. I saw this funny picture of a sign outside a london pub, said: English Spoken Here, American Understood. :)

Geordie accents

are like English, only better...

hahah

'"The Mighty Boosh" is a British sitcom about a mod, a somewhat insufferable intellectual type, their oafish boss, and all the wacky fun they have together.'

sounds like somat your mum would say... not your mum spcificaly of course just in general...

Actually,

that sounds EXACTLY like something my Mam would say.

Pitchfork blows.

ok its better than the Oz websites over here which are generally pretty crap. A good US site is Blender, despite the rnb.
DiS is the best website ive found.

bloody americans

cant believe theyre selling tanks online. jeez.

that's a pretty spot on

description of TMB. except 'wacky' should be IN CAPITALS. WACKY. LIKE THIS. WACKY.
