This guy is actually really very good. I went to The Enterprise t'other night and it was well good..He's quite bluesy with his music, but also dead amusing with these weird poems between songs. Does anyone else do poetry as well as music right now? I was very pleasantly surprised, having been dragged by a enthusiastic friend. Derek had a band with him for this gig, but is usually solo apparently.
Yes, for him. Good.

I've seen him twice
and on both occasions he was supporting The Maccabees
- the first time he got heckled (mind you in Nottingham that can happen to even Arcade Fire), but he seemed to relish it, and played to it really well
- the second time at Jabez Clegg in Manchester he seemed to widely appreciated, and his stall was busy afterwards
Yes, as you say amusing
Yes!
I really love Derek's stuff. Very entertaining live. I appreciate an artist who has such a persona on stage...doubters be damned. Good to see it getting some positive attention.
How is the album ?
Worth getting ?
Aye
I've only heard my pal's copy, but it's very good, yes.
The poetry thing is humorous and all very novel, but his music is actually very gratifying too.
It was rammed to the rafters on Monday night.
Infact, Orlando from The Maccabees was at the back.
will try to get it...
