I have been really impressed by them each time I've seen them live. Saturday should be really good. Gang Gang Dance who I don't really know are apparently playing too plus plenty of other things, I'm trying to find a full listing for the night with stage times? HH

But a full line-up. Including a DJ set from Trevor Jackson (ex-Playgroup/Output Recordings) !!!!
..and thought they were quite good, then I saw them again and thought it was possibly the most pretentious thing I'd ever seen (after Todd Rundgren's 'Liars' tour).

there's plenty of stuff out there that I'm pefectly happy to not get. But this band are much maligned (perhaps misunderstood) and the amount of flak they get for VERY quietly going about their business pisses me off. And don't bother with the 'mere mortals' bullshit, it's a cop out. Surely the whole point is that I do 'sense a higher level' - I like them and you don't. Now what's the problem there?

if you're going to persist with the angle that I presume I'm in possession of a more refined sense of taste than yourself because of semantics - well, that really is your problem. Do you feel that it denigrates you in some way to feel nothing? Because it doesn't. The reason my initial post was a bit aggressive is, like I said earlier, that this band are one of the lowest-profile, attention shirking acts going and yet they attract ill considered and reactionary accusations of pretentiousness, which is a fucking defunct term when discussing music anyway. Right, that's your lot. Peace brother.
