Bee Thousand
Propeller
End of thread.
^
fool.
bee thousand
propeller
alien lanes
under the bushes
then everything else!
the best of is quite good..
Its called Human Amusements at Hourly Rates. The amount of albums and tracks is quite intimidating. Alien Lanes is my favourite though.
^^^^^
yes.
They pick up where the Beatles left off
Ohio style
what have you heard already?
they can be your friends forever...and your loyalty will be rewarded, but it takes time to really dig in. I recommend the Matador box set "Hardcore UFOs". It's got the Best of, "Human Amusements at Hourly Rates" (in chronological order), "Demons and Painkillers", a collection of incredible early EP tracks/outtakes/rarities, "Live at the Wheelchair Races" collecting some choice live material, the "Watch Me Jumpstart" documentary about early GBV, etc etc.
And yeah, Alien Lanes, Bee Thousand, Propeller, Vampire on Titus, Under The Bushes, those records defined GBV in the 90s but the later records are worth checking out too, especially Isolation Drills and Universal Truths and Cycles, IMO
I picked up Bee Thousand for £2
Many moons ago and, although it's for some reason still the only GBV record I own, it's unbelievably brilliant. The production got on my nerves at first but now I love it.
all of it
all 50,000,000,00,0,0,000,0,000 albums
this is becoming a weekly thread
this makes me happy that people are getting into Guided By Voices. Even if it is only one person a week.
