Technically minded?

In what sense?

Techno?

Dont really float my boat codders.

SHIT!

Back to HMV for me then ;-)

:D

I'm struggling to think of a better way to explain it really.

Anything that involves reading drawings and understanding them. Visualising something in 3d as opposed to the 2d format you are looking at.

Problem solving, figuring out better ways to achieve the same results.

Having a job that requires design input.

Umm, there's not a huge amount

of really technical stuff, though there is a lot of specialist knowledge in things like the Civil Contingencies Act.
Also stuff like how to put together an Emergency Plan, formats.
Nothing techy on the IT/design side of things really though.

Mine requires a good knowledge of

the company's policy and procedure and how the system works, but that's something most people could pick up easily.

I have to be able to

pick up a telephone receiver, dial a number and talk into the receiver. 86% technical.

we all do

however id like know how u can afford internet and stuff on the doley?

oh wait I'll do this for you now

"Well it is my buisness because I'm working so you can sit on your ars all day".

noooooo

actually i was thinking if i go travelling and come back and sign on will i have to be out of pocket for the internet and stuff or is it all paid :)

*waves mini peace flag*

Sorry,

I'm just not very comfortable with signing on the dole at the moment.

I actually feel like the biggest heap of shit known to mankind.

I was on a training course for two weeks and I missed one day as I was really ill, and they wouldn't let me back on the course.

So I had to sign on whilst looknig for work.

And it is so depressing and I really hate everything at the moment.

I have the internet because it's included in my rent.

I'm paying my rent with my credit card as I haven't applied for housing benefit.

That is my life right now
thanks
x

ouch

take the housing benefit. quick quick before the compound monster gets u.

i was unemployed for a winter once, mid day walks are a must with good new music ;)

+ it means ur due some karmic debt.

Where are you going travelling?

And can I come?

honestly not sure

where im going yet or if its going to be a go live somewhere for a while instead thing.

I went to japan last year and thought about going there to teach english for a bit... san francisco as a place to live is also appealing...but so is just buying a ticket anywhere and see where i end up.

i dunno, would u carry my bags if i got tired? ;P

no, no I wouldn't

:)

I got accepted by Nova Group to teach English in Japan last year, and I turned down the offer. What an idiot!

What do you do work-wise at the moment?

dam

well that helps answer another question: how do i go about seeing if i could teach in japan, thanks :)

right now i work in barn in the middle of no where writing software with a bunch of middleaged rock climbers...its wierd.

I used go to the Tottenham Job Centre.

Then I went to the Seven Sisters Reed, you have a treat in store I can tell you.

There's a Reed in Seven Sisters?

Brilliant, I might take a wander

barmaid:

be able to do mental arithmetic haha
Nanny, err know how to construct all manner of things out of paper

VERY

building services design = lots of thermodynamics + computer modelling + technical drawing + lots of other stuff that's less technical and more practical

More than I like

I have to figure how to fit kitchens together and how many units etc. will fit in a space. A bit technical and VERY dull.

IT'S YOU!

S'up.

It's me indeed!

I now have an internet connection, totally 21st century.

not very

unless you count the ability to spell as technical

well then!

I R TECHNICAL

quite a lot

my job title is 'ass technical officer' (on my badge anyway). Involves engineering drawings (making and reading), making stuff from metal/wood/plastic using mills, lathes, welding machines, bandsaws etc.

Why d'you ax?

plus we get a new CNC machine next month!

woohoo etc. It's only been 2 years since we last had one.

more than most i'd guess

but still not very at all

Fairly

interpretting legal documents and their relevance to any given piece of research. So yeah, pretty technically minded I suppose.

It would probably help if I was more technically minded

but I'm not, so it'll have to do. I'm going with 17%

100%

Engineer

What kind?

I'm a civil engineer.

50%

spotting nigerians faking their qualifications isnt that hard

:D

I imagine you to be a harsh invigilator

Not really

Just need to be good at pretending to know about technical things!

I'm a SOCO

so pretty technically minded I guess.

56% technical

It requires a sound knowledge of Office applications including Excel pivot tables and charting techniques, coupled with the ability to analyse large amounts of information, identify patterns and trends and predict future outcomes.

So far no-one's found out that I don't have this knowledge.

Pretty technical, 95%, maybe more

Lots of programming, geeky stuff, problem solving, visualising data, thinking in the way that browsers render, markup semantics, proper visual and interaction design. all on a scale involving quite a lot of people/users.

Not blowing my own trumpet, but yeah.

85%

my job is basically problem solving, figuring out better ways to achieve the same results. analysing information and trying to apply it in different scenarios.
