awwww :)

did you know he was going to be there before the gig?or was it just "hi im alistair" kind of thing?

just got chatting there as i was on my lonesome.

Didn't realise until he started diverting his route home to chat to me more that he was a liker of the men

Ha!

I thought you had to have a honed Gaydar to pass the test and get your license?

I worked with a bloke who made it his sole mission

to pass on his Gaydar to me and I think he did pretty well as I think I am pretty good at it. Not something to put on a CV certainly...

what more is there to say

met at the bus stop, got married.

: (

oh

did you want the bus stop thread? Just to clarify, I'm not THAT girl.

I want you to be THAT girl.........

actually, I just want a stupendously long and overly involved thread that culminates in beautiful failure, once you start introducing concepts like romantic success into a story the central pillars on which DiS is built begin to corrode!

you mean DiS is going

to break and it's all my fault for being happy? Shall I call it off?

Well, yes.

It'll be like what happens if you type 'Google' into Google, you'll break the internet.

I just tried this

I'm disappointed with the results.

Well, my MSN has stopped working.....

coincidence or something more sinister?

Mutual friends at a pub. I kept rambling on about how great Pixies were,

she burnt me with a cigarette lighter.

True love.

PREDICT THIS!

and now you're a hunkahunk

of burning love.

:D

just if people were wondering

i met my gf on myspace.i know i know internet relationships never last but 2 years and 10 months later were still together!

don't see a problem with that.

No more different than people meeting in a club really, is it? Except in a club people just try to bed one another and don't know each other first. I met an ex off the internet and it lasted 18 months, so no shunning from me

easier to manipulate

a persons view of you over the internet

of course

less time to react to situations and conversations though

True, true...however, if you met someone

for one date all you have to do is not see them again if it goes downhill on rollerskates

Do you think?

On another note, did I ever tell you how really, really, really tall I am?

that's true

I'm really a 40 year old man in sandals.

mmmmmaybe

would you like a lollipop?

first at a bloc party gig

then again 4 months later at zonino 2.5, then again when a few of us went camping when truck was flooded, but she didn't manage to go, then again at joemahone's birthday the next day,

School.

Yeah, 6th year high school sweet hearts. We have been going out together for 6 years this august, and I can remember the whole Dawson's Creek "Will we survive University?" talk way back when...

Knew her on here

and had met her a few times at various DiS/other things and then 'got together' at Zonino 2 :)

ZONINO!

ZONINO!

You can be on my first TV advert when I make it.

lived with her first year of uni

she had a boyfriend at the time. Soon sorted that one out.

Ross Noble

I was searching for pictures of comedians online to go on my facespace and when I typed in 'Ross Noble' it linked to this girl's website selling her handmade crafty things. We shared a few e-mails about the dark haired Geordie and then I met her properly after a Herman Dune gig and asked her out for a drink the following week.

that's lovely :D

thats magic!

:)

In the queue for a club in Hoxton Square

My sister asked him if he knew of a anyone with any pills (ha!) and then we got talking. Ended up carrying said sister out of the nightclub after she had too much to drink. He said something like "I know this is a bad time but can I have your number?" :D

:D

I'm picturing an incredibly romantic scene right now.

:D

Brilliant. What a classy, classy man he is.

University

at some party. Then bothered her on MSN.

:'(

we went to the same church whilst we were at uni

(that particular church was like club 18:30 for christian students)

i didn't really hang around with her much until after we graduated, and then after a few months we decided that we quite liked each other and i finally manned up enough to make a move.

We went to different schools, but had mutual friends and I met her at one of their birthday parties. Took me a further seven years to ask her out, but I got there in the end.

Are you me??

Because that's identical to my story. I'm not special anymore :(

No

He's definitely me, that was established a long time ago.

I don't know why I posted that

I think I'm still drunk/euphoric from Melt Banana last night.

You're the Cilla Black in my life. Thewarn is "our Richard". Was that his name?

Friend of a friend.

When I first met her not much happened, but as I got to know her a bit better.. well, y'know, you start liking someone. I wasn't sure she liked me at first, but she didn't want to rush into something. Went to a couple of gigs together, then I invited her round to watch a film, and made my move. Hooray!

She fell on me in a club

she was completely shitfaced and fell over, so I helped her back up with a few other people, and carried on dancing. About half an hour later she came up to me and asked, 'do you still think I'm cool', which I didn't really know how to reply to but we chatted about bands for a bit and then Flaming Lips came on and we danced and kissed.

:)

SNAP!

it was meant to be a joke

but i'm a big fat loser today so it was shite :'(

:(

:)

she was a barmaid / waitress,

I was the DJ in a bar/diner. 10 years in October together. Getting married in September !

That's so sweet

Congrats!

ha,cheers

My mate used to work in music PR

So I used to ask him for new music recommendations, he said I should listen to this band - which I did, really liked there stuff so I emailed to ask if they had a EP and also if they had a band shirt in my size. I started chatting online with the guitarist, we finally met up and I was an hour late, we met up again at a Foals gig and then at a Forward! Russia! gig and now it's all happiness and roses.

:)

Went to school with her

All through 6th form we were purely platonic best friends. Everyone in our year said 'ah they'll be shagging soon' but we didn't. Then we went to two separate universitys but stayed in contact quite a lot (this is BEFORE facebook even). Eventually we met up in our third years and decided to stop living in denial about the attraction and... well you get the idea.

We've now been married 6 years and have 2 daughters.

this is lovely

:)

Awwwwwwwwwwww

This fills me with false hope

but its very nice! :)

That's well nice.

I have no story to tell. 32 and single :-(

Her friend

nearly puked on me at a gig

Before a Patrick Wolf gig.

I'd told her to come along and meet us, and that me and bobbygeorge were the new Cannon & Ball. She fell for it. I stared at her boobs for about an hour. Months later she came onto me when I was powerless to resist after I DJ'd at the Barfly, having previously tried to lure me in with Levelling The Land and fridge magnets.

I got stood up by a girl

I invited to a Patrick Wolf gig once. I thought getting 'stood up' only happened in American sit-coms.

Nope ask my housemate

it happens to him all the time

I was nearly caught in that

honey trap!

Fortunately I hate the levellers.

I mean, fortunately for mrs thewarn

*walks away whistling*

sophie tried to woo

you with the Levellers too? SCANDLE!

Anyway.

Didn't you two meet on the internet?

bite me

x

No, no.

I was merely there when the levellers wooing occured. And in fact, if anyt
