lightning bolt

obviously.

maths are always going on about how "beautiful" their music is

no good

i have Wonderful Rainbow butttttttt....loud? yes. beautiful? not sure..

really?!

you can almost see the blissful riffage arcing out of the sky. truely beautiful. it never fails to give me good vibes either.

Comets on Fire

Especially their later stuff.
Oh and Besnard Lakes sound great played loudly, but they're also really beautiful.
The new Shearwater album sounds fantastic and some of the tracks have really loud crashing drums. Hope that helps.

Oh, and...

M83. Yeah!

RAW POWER

By Iggy and The Stooges. Loudest album i own. May stretch your conception of beauty however

Actually if you got Iggy's new mix of Raw Power it is intrinsicly loud

I think he really pegged the levels to obliterate any memory of David Bowie's original mix

also

Stooges Fun House: it is impossible to turn this up too loud- I have tested this.

Envy?

I'm not keen on the new stuff, but you might dig it if you're looking for loud / beautiful stuff;

Listen to A Warm Room. Last track on the Myspace link.

A Far Off Reason is great as well

It's been a while since i've listened to Compiled Fragments. The bit at 1:57 is fucking amazing.

I heard Boris for the first time ever last night

The album was titled 'Pink'...

It was rather loud and chaotic, pretty awesome in all respects.

Farewell is pretty epic.

But i don't rate the rest of that album at all.

Skullflower

"IIIrd Gatekeeper" if you like Earth or Sunn 0))). Its incredibly loud and heavy and I think quite cinematic.

the fire and i

maybe?

Bear Vs Shark

Artistic hardcore, just a pity they only made 2 albums

A Place To Bury Strangers

didn't really rate them that much at first but their album has really grown on me it really does make sense if you play it loudly.

i love that album

i always listen to it really loud when im biking. it makes me go fast.

i think

the loudest band in the world has to be High On Fire

ooh jamie?

Merzbow!!11!1!1!!

i find beauty in his work.

or something droney, like burning star core.

Merzbow is fucking shit.

I'm so fed up of all this noise. Absolutely no talent involved at all. They should all fuck off and die.

Agree

Spectrum loading noise emperor's new clothes annoying headachey shit.

mogwai

good old moggers

Boris, Sunn O))) and Fuck Buttons

they all sound fabulous at high volume

and Interpol, Wolfmother too

Earth 2 played at floor shaking volume

is the best loud but beautiful music there is.

I'm excited about getting some Earth

I used to fantasize about music like Earth, Boris, Sunn O))) back in the nineties and I'm glad it is finally happening or that I've finally found some.

Get 'Altar' the Boris /Sunn O))) collab

Not only will it hit two of those bands at once but it is one of the most beautiful records ever.

listen to

Overmars - Born Again

pretty hard...

and most people seem to be neglecting the beauty part...

circle takes the square?

metallica's s&m album

mono

really quite beautiful and all of a sudden becomes really intense. Amazing

I can't believe

no one has said Torche or Big Business. They pretty much epitomise this thread.

Kevin Drumm

Sheer Hellish Miasma.
Depends on your definition of 'beautiful'. I absolutely love it.
Mind you, it is the only record I own that has made my dog flee the room.
