Outhere brothers style...

dirty comedy fun rap. Just wait

...

I think it was Har Mar Superstar

He was really shit. I should know, I bought the album!

i thought pop-rock/pop-punk/ska was on its way back

but i don't think ska gets a comeback, i think its extinct

cool

i was right then

i still want to know when secret handshake are playing a gig over here?

i know they had one cancelled a few seeks ago

New Wave of New Wave

New Wave of New Wave of new Wave?

or Romo?

i want a new wave of punk..

like in the late 90's/early 00's with Refused, ATD-I and Jr Ewing. That would be damn good.

That would be fantastic

and I really hope something with a bit more guts makes a revival soon- bands are there but it takes a bit of trawling to find them.

join indietorrents

zillions of these bands on the scene, many excellent too.

.

New Wave of Nu Rave.

pop and ska punk

if we get a nice sunny summer

Shout Golden Shout!

I was just talking with my friend the other day about this. We both agreed it was time for a mid 80's industrial comeback. Skinny Puppy, Front 242, Nitzer Ebb and the like. Granted some of these bands are still around in more crapulent forms....

Big-hair Stadium Rock

*fingers crossed* please, please, please

try telling our american cousins

that this music genre has ever gone away!

actually there does seem to be an

80's glam metal scene of sorts in leeds already, influenced by motley crue and bon jovi. I think it's mainly about the drugs and groupies but it is there.

this band are playing download fest peddaling that type of stuff.

I hope it's something loud, offensive and filthy

there's been too much girls music around lately.

^yep

it already has

"scuzzy" rock like TNV and no age. I told you this whole "la scene" thing would explode.

And for once I don't actually hate it. I don't love it either but you know. whatever.

TNV?

times new viking

all the kids love them

I've only heard a couple of tracks

and wasn't really impressed, not enough riffs.

they're not very good

they have really average songs but put shit loads of distortion over them.

^

i'm freshening up my Amen t-shirt as we speak.

I hate to think how fat

Alien Ant Farm would be on a reunion tour.

my friends went to see them play

on september 11th 2001.

dark gig.

:D

So did mine!

Honky tonk

It's about time!

honky tonk man?

is he dead?

Proper Goth

would be nice.

None of yer emo nonsense.

Guitar Hero

brought back loads of old rock n'roll and metal. Perhaps a new game along the same lines but allowing you to be a DJ and mix old tracks will see a renaissance for the likes of 808 State, A Guy Called Gerald and Snap...or maybe not

Just let it not be reggae

Although that is timelessly shite, I suppose.

PS Nirvana/Strokes style? How do the latter belong with the former.

Nu-Prog

or something.

garage

i fear.. its already coming back a bit

garage rock?

2-step garage?
Garage (house music chicargo gay style with vocals)?

I mean New York not Chicargo

its named after the legedary NY club The Paradise Garage aint it ffs hehehe

Ska

I hope anyway.

Skiffle

Didn't

Jack Penate already try that?

in that case he's a visionary!

mark my words...

Turkish Psych

Mark my words!!

Mmmm

Well we seem to be getting shoegazey dream rock back now, so scuzzy grungey stuff would be the logical thing once the mainsteam got used to distorted guitars again.

^ this

Although it might be because I'm in Seattle. I've been stocking up on plaid in anticipation.

Pavement stuff.

" In a 2006 Pitchfork interview, Scott Kannberg discussed the possibility of a reunion for the band's 20th anniversary in 2009."

'ambient metal' proved that

combining two opposing genres can work so what about 'twee-thrashcore'?

Thats scary

Me, two other DiSers, and two other real-life people, are starting a twee grindcore band next week!

wow - send me some recordings

I'll be your first fan

hobocore

you all know it makes sense.

The new acoustic scene with no name.

Oh wait, isn't it what's happening already ?

Prog

Seriously....

80's/70's disco synth pop!

just you watch!

hyper folk metal

my grandad plays it....the kids love him

Rave will make a proper comeback.

None of this Klaxons rubbish.

There will be some kind of baggy era or acid house revival.

I predict in about 2 years time most bands will sound like Stone Roses / Soup Dragons / Primal Scream.

I'm not saying this is a good thing.

Menswear

Strangelove
Rednex

alternative metal

skatepunk
riot grrl
new wave
post-hardcore
oi!
funk metal
slowcore
shoegaze

who came up with that shit!?
