Saw the cure & sonic youth. it was pretty darn cool. It's more like 3 gigs in a row than a festival, as nothing happens on the site during the day, you do get a free bus to the town centre though, which is nice :) But I'd recommend it alot, it's a pretty good show all round
I went in
2005, (might have been 2006).
I had fun depite pretty much everything geared otherwise. It's the most corporate festival I've ever been to. Once in the arena you're not allowed back to your tent - they won't let you back in. I went to my tent to get my jacket - without knowing this rule. Was stuck outside for the rest of the night.
So basically you have to spend the entire day buying £5 cups of beer.
There was another (really nice) posh theatre 'stage' on the beach in St Malo which was a bus ride away, saw animal collective in there. The only problem was 1000 people waiting to cram into each bus - fucking scary and not really worth the hassle.
The French people seemed fine with being treated like cattle and there were drunk tramps patrolling the campsite on the rob. (saw a tent get pillaged in the middle of the night). AND depite the really posh 17/18yr old kids from Jersey who made up 50% of the audience. It was quite fun.
I went there for my 1st ever festival

The fort is nice.
We escaped and got drunk by the moat.
