Tickets for My Bloody Valentine ICA shows going for £200 on eBay, £20 elsewhere
Posted: 10 Jun '08, 12:18
The ICA sent a missive out across the wires to its mailing list patrons last night, revealing that My Bloody Valentine would be playing two warm-up ‘rehearsal’ shows at the 350-capacity venue this weekend. Kevin Shields et al. will be performing this Friday and Saturday evening (13, 14 Jun) in central London, with support on the latter date coming from Charlotte Marionneau’s Le Volume Courbe (Shields has various production and writing credits on Marionneau’s I Killed My Best Friend longplayer). After that, there's the five night stint at the London Roundhouse which runs from the 20th 'til the 24th of June.
Understandably, tickets for the ICA dates didn’t last very long. DrownedinSound just achieved entrance to this Friday’s show from WeGotTickets.com, though they appear to have ‘sold out’ again already. By our reckoning, if you’re desperate and you hammer that big red ‘BUY’ button enough times eventually they’ll have to let you through, won’t they?
To anyone else who manages to get tickets for My Bloody Valentine’s dates at the London ICA this weekend – WIN, pretty much. You can look doubly smug now that second-hand tickets are already beginning to wash up on eBay – two, here, for the combined price of £199.99. Buy It Now? DON'T - all eBay tickets will be voided, say promoters ATP.
More extensive details of the shows can be found at ATP's website.

can't believe...
i've got two tickets for this. MBV at the ICA. unbelievable. really unbelievable. *goes and sits down*
-
I can't believe I got through to the buy bit
And then decided I couldn't be bothered
-
-
Apprently
I got the last ticket for Saturday just after 11.
-
A big fuck you to MBV
from all the fans who bought tickets to the first Roundhouse show thinking they would be attending the biggest ever comeback gig. Only to find out that these shows would go ahead the week before, and could not make it/ get hold of tickets for this weekend's peformances.
With this announcement and the imminent release of the album remasters Kevin and co. should be making a pretty penny from all of us.
Sorry, but this has angered me.
-
fair point
i know a few other people who feel the same
-
Yup.
I refreshed like a madman to get tickets for the first Roundhouse night, thinking it would be 'the comeback'.
-
-
yeah well
i'm attending Friday too but i'm actually kinda glad they're doing some warmup shows beforehand. Still no idea what to expect...it was such a long way to go when we booked them and now it's...almost there!
-
dude
these are warm up gigs! i am willing to bet money that they'll fuck up at least once at these gigs, like have to restart a song or something. It'll be very messy.
By the time the Roundhouse rolls around they'll have straightened these things out. You'll get a better show, trust me.

That did nark me
as someone going the following Friday but the ATP website lists these as a 'warm up rehearsal' show so hopefully we will see a bit more on those dates?

gig hysteria is a funny thing
I logged onto the forum this morning and saw the mbv ticket thread and all the excitement contained within. I got through to the purchase page and saw that there were still tickets available, was just about to pay and then I realised I didn't actually want to go. Quite relieved I saved myself £45.
-
same here
I don't think I even really want to see them at the roundhouse either, I always wished they would do a comeback but im a bit fickle and sometimes wanting something is better than having it
-
I mean
the mystery surronding them and the potential for them to do an amazing comeback is more exciting than any actual comeback is likely to be.

Got tickets for Manchester
Can't wait. I saw them the first time round and they were amazing.
-
Had them in the basket
but then didn't purchase in the end. Why oh why??!! Probably because I'm happy with my ticket for 21st at the Roundhouse.....whilst secretly hoping they fuck up something awful for these 'rehearsal shows'. I mean whats a fucking rehearsal show?? Do that in private, behind closed doors, get the rustiness all out the system and then bludgeon everyone at the Roundhouse with it. No doubt after it's all done and dusted the ICA crowd will be saying "yeah the Roundhouse was good but the ICA shows were so much better....."

Does anyone know who’s supporting?
I’m off to the Manchester show, I bought the tickets so long ago I’d almost forgotten, but now it’s close, ‘oh my!’ I’m tingly.
-
Hmmm
I managed to get a ticket for the Saturday ICA show at about 12:45ish.
Now wonder why I did as am going to the Roundhouse the following Sunday. Bloody gig hysteria pulled me right in!!

wegottickets
have the re-allocation function, so it probably wont be possible for that person to sell those tickets for that ICA show!
-
Considering they havnt played any gigs in so long
Im glad that the roundhouse dates arent the firs to be honest, i think going to a gig just because its a comeback show is a little gimmicky, id rather they just played an awesome set and with the practice of the ICA shows surely theres no doubt its going to be immense

flying from Boston
I'm flying from Boston to see My Bloody Valentine in London on the 21st. I'm totally breaking the bank here to see my favorite band of all time. It's like my pilgrimage to Mecca or something. Even if they are terrible live, at least I will have no regrets. I wonder who will open the gigs. I know it won't be Ride or Slowdive unfortunately.

Im
selling 2 my bloody valentine tickets for the 23rd at the roundhouse
