For those interested:

" Hello friends,
Here it goes
Tonight we have decided that I was a cub scout has and must now come to a close.

We have had countless problems over the past year or so and with yet more occuring, we feel it best to end on what would seem like a decent note.

We will be honouring all of our uk shows of which we have confirmed. with the I tunes festival at koko with death cab for cutie on july 14th being our last.

We will speak more of it all soon, but for now we must tour.

It is a very sad day for us
Thankyou

todd x "

Not too bothered myself, the album is weak...

i hope the drummer finds a new band.

the other guy and his ego will probably go solo

The drummer is in a new band

called Brontide (www.myspace.com/brontidetheband)

with the bassist from Pictures and Tim Hancock (The Petty Thief). Only very rough demos up but sounds pretty cool. Nothing like IWACS.

yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my thoughts exactly.

DEFINITELY

going to the wedge gig then.

Todd always seemed very moody

maybe I just caught them at the wrong gigs but he was always complaining about something and then whining on about it all through the set.
Though to be fair I am probably thinking most of seeing them water rats where the sound was truly horrific.

oh no :(

they are playing in Sheffield tonight but I can't afford to go. This is rubbish :(

*yawn*

shitttt

=[

A year ago I would have been really bothered

but I thought the album was pretty weak

agreed

Don't be so hostile

I thought the album was weak, end of.

You don't make sense though

What didn't they do on the album that they did a year earlier? Half the old songs are on the freakin' album!

then they were better live

he album has far less energy than the live show

I've seen this pretty late

The album sounds very flat, and seems devoid of energy. Earlier recordings didn't.

Also, I don't have to make any sense. I just didn't like it. So you fuck right off.

Oh

Saw them just the once, pretty recently, and thought they were good...

they were a very whiney, whinging sort of band weren't they?

i remember hearing a couple of songs that i thought were ok, but the album was dross. not really a big deal this one is it?

Who cares?

oh fuck off

Its a shame they split, they had a lot of potential to do great things.

Pink Squares was one of the best songs of this year.

Only saw them once.

They were piss poor and I left before the end.

thats a proper shame

i really enjoyed most of the album, and i reckon if they had another go at one it would have been awesome.

oh well- all the good bands are splitting up these days.

is a massive shame

the most recent material they have recorded is really good.

personally i will miss them.

I heard them for the first time only yesterday

and was suprised at how wet they sounded.

I don't understand where the hate is coming from

I really enjoyed the album. There were some really great tracks on it.

Seeing them live was always great fun. Even when stuff went wrong they always seemed to put in a good performance anyhow. Todd is one of the most genuinely nice people I've come across in all this gigging business. I just don't understand the hate.

I for one am dissapointed that it hasn't worked out. In my opinion they were a very good band.

Agreed with this

I met Todd on a train back from ATP last month and he was a really nice guy :)

No hate from me

I was just really underwhelmed and disappointed by the album

^ this

it's not hatred at all, they have always been great live

but that record was very 'meh'

^

yeah, some people being a bit harsh :(

That's what they get for having

that stupid, stupid name.

They weren't bad...

but I always wanted to like them more than I actually did. The one time I saw them live at Water Rats last year with Russian Circles, I thought they were really disappointing.

I've hardly listened to the album since it came out.

oh! :(

shame....

these two guys were at my uni.
saw them in the Bivouac in Lincoln like every other friday. good times.

When they played there last june

it was amazing. They are such a good band.
What a shame, it never really happened for them.

Big :(

Always thought they had the chance to be huge. They will be sorely missed.

to be fair

they've survived quite a long time on one song.

^^

The first time

i heard of this band someone said their name to me and I turned to them (probably put an arm around them as I was pissed) and said "It's Ok, man. I was as well...it was fucking good fun back in the day."

He looked at me like he wanted to kill me.

Pretty weak band though really.

Ah well :(

I quite enjoyed them really.

The drummer has another project on the go I can't rember the name though they are in my myspace friends some place.

Now I can set into motion my trubute acts

They Were A Cub Scout
Is That Who Use To Be In Cub Scout
This Isn't The Cub Scouts
Etc.......

Yeah, I've listed to a demo.

It sounds pretty good.

Aww

i'm kinda gutted at this, especially seeing as Todd said he had 6/7 new IWACS songs on the go for a new record only a month ago! The album was good i though, production was quite rubbish in places, but the tunes were ace. And live they always put on a good show. I for one will miss them :(

oh, what a shame!

they are one of my favourite live bands, I love the album too.

is anyone

sure of why they split, everything seems a bit vague but i can tell there is some sinister sh*t involved

There was a MySpace bulletin that Todd posted the other night...

...which quickly got deleted.

It was still all kinda vague but he admitted in it that him and Will have grown to pretty much hate each other.

He also said something along the lines of "tomorrow will be our final headline show because Will has decided he doesn't want to do anymore".

It all sounded a little bit childish and bitter really.

aren't they only 18/19 years old

makes this sort of thing more likely to happen, a bit like Symposium (rip).

Rather tragically

I always confuse this lot (name-wise) with Scouting For Girls. Shame, I was quite happy about the split for a second.
