VETIVER gig tonight

Is anyone else going and is there a bar in the St Pancras Church?! How is it as a venue....?

  • If

it's anything as good as last night in Manchester then you are in for a treat. There's one new song where the only percussion is a triangle and an eensy weensy bit of hi-hat. But that doesn't answer either of your questions...

    • Ta!

still good to know.... are they playing stuff off all 3 albums?

      • not so much

from the first one but plenty from the other two. I tried to get them to do Hurry On Sundown but to no avail. You May Be Blue was amazing though, and they're playing a few new songs. The one with the triangle is called Sister. Otto hauser is probably the world's best drummer. They had a band called Birds Of Avalon supporting, who were surprisingly heavy, but I think last night was their last date on the tour.

        • Wot no

Hurry On Sundown? i was banking on that one... Otherwise sounds good - the 1st album doesn't do it as much for me - and besides has no drums on most tracks... Looking forwrd to checking out the drummer. As with all best drummies, does he play with a minimal kit?

          • he kinda

TICKLES the drumkit, instead of playing. It's amazing. He's also in Espers I think. As for kit, there wasn't masses of it, but can't say I know the first thing about gear.

          • tonight

i'll be there. also featuring david thomas broughton who i'm looking forward to. not been to the venue before. must have a bar though...
