I'm listening to 'Philophobia' as we speak/type and it reminded me how fucking good this band is.
Whats your fav Arab Strap album?
I think this takes it as mine, but Last Romance is pretty top too.

philophobia
is probs my fave.
has anyone heard the mad for sadness version of deeper? i got it off some dude on the old 'strap forum (r.i.p) and oh my fucking christ is that something else! through headphones its pantwetting stuff.
haven't heard it,
i'll hunt it down. thanks for the tip.
i dunno
where you'll find it but add me on msn if you get no joy and i can send it sometime.
cool.
i'm at work, so i'll add you later for so action.
oh er missus!
All of them...
"The Shy Retirer" is beyond beautiful, it might be their best song.
it could be...
along with wasting, the night before the funeral, the clearing, armor veneris,.... i could go on.
I would say
Monday At The Hug and Pint is my favourite album. Right now my favourite Arab Strap song is There Is No Ending, I love the lyrics so much.
I've only got Philophobia
and I love it. Really need to see about getting some more.
I've got Aidan John Moffat's solo one and I like it. 'specially the last track.
Philophobia
Definitely. I remember the first time that I heard the album, on an aisle seat on the London-Leicester coach, sat next to a couch sized incontinence pad wearing cunt but it didn't matter. I tend to move on from a lot of music quite quickly, but I'm found my love of Arab Strap to be an Enduring Love. Right now I'm really enjoying the Ten Years of Tears compilation, especially the version of (Afternoon) Soaps, the First Big Weekend and Oxytocin.
I think
they're actually my All Time Favourite Band. For want of better words.
those words operate quite well actually
i think
only a matter of weeks ago i started a thread that seconds this exact notion.
I do love them
and all the albums. But after listening to Mad For Sadness most other stuff sounds a little...um, flat
....flat might not be the right word but a lot of their stuff definitely sounds better live
I agree. Plus Mad For... has Girls of Summer
which is simply amazing.
I just noticed that Malcolm Middleton is playing London next week
(Y)
They're probably my favourite band..
Of the studio albums I like philophobia and Hug & Pint best.
Although there is something brilliant about late night train journeys with elephant shoe.
Has everyone heard this - http://www.noloveforned.com/arabstraparchive/ ?
yes
and its quite cack.
altho i love the star wars love theme! :)
