restaurant recommendations central/east london?!

got to take an old friend out tonight... somewhere with good atmosphere that wont force us out the door the moment put our cutlery down... and preferably cheapish!

anyone got any good recommendations?!?!...

  • Ciao Bella

on Lamb's Conduit St by Holborn. Best non-fine dining Italian I've ever been to, and it's very cheap. Proper homemade Italian food.

    Usually always packed though.

  • Brick Lane for a good curry

    • You'd be hard pushed to find a good curry

they stopped serving them years ago.

  • Bodeans!

on Poland or Berwick street i think. more of a diner than a restaurant, but their smoky pulled pork and ribs are amazing. tis a full on meat fest.

or you could always go for a curry on Brick Lane. they're all pretty cheap and usually have a good friendly atmosphere

there's also the Tay Do vietnamese cafe & restaurant on Dalston Kingsland (the shoreditch end) which is great, cheap and the portions are very generous

  • depends on what kind

of stuff you like and your budget

  • Song Que on Kingsland Road

is ridiculously cheap and good. Service isn't amazing but the food and price is.

Or Cinnamon for the best curry on Brick Lane, cheap (first round of beers free, that kinda thing).

Or go to Buen Ayre on Broadway Market for the best fucking steak ever. It's not that cheap but it's awesome for the Argentinian steak restaurant that it is. Book as it gets busy. My steak was so good I almost came. I think they get that a lot in there.
