  • Theres no bomb

i live 5 mins away i heard no screaming or banging

    • I'll give you a clue

"This is a safety precaution taken by the airport due to an unexploded WW2 bomb found at a site in East London.

    • That's where the word 'unexploded'

      makes all the difference.

    • .. it hasn't exploded

      It's from World War II.

  • How close would it have to be to the airport?

    Probably in the docks somewhere.

  • i bet it was islams

    • DONT BE STUPID

THEY DIDNT HAVE MOHAMMED IN THE WORLD WARZ

  • It's in Stratford

Jesus, how big a blast would it have to be to affect the airport?

    • Thanks.

      I don't think they're too far apart - just a precaution I suppose.

      • They're pretty far apart

I lived right by the airport last year.

I'll find out the distance. Hold on.

        • I'd guess it's about four miles

          • Thanks.

It's quite far from me so I'm going to mooch off home.

        • Google Earth says 4.9 miles

But I think it sends you on a bit of a detour.

    • second one this week!

maybe they're just concerned about smoke / ash from a potential explosion interfering with navigation?

    • hppy thousandth post

remember that time you managed one thousand posts in three days? we were all so proud.

      • stalker!

      • I remember 500 posts in 24 hours

including having been out all night during those 24 hours.

I had no idea I had 1000 with this account already, though. That's pretty bad.

  • I'm sure there's a perfectly logical explanation

but how come excavators always seem to find WWII bombs? Surely if they didn't go off when dropped someone would find them?
