SPARKS!
"Ron and Russell Mael are Sparks, art-pop conceptualists rooting in the undergarments of popular music and teasing what they find into minimalist symphonies that celebrate perversity and yearn for perfection. On the eve of new album “Exotic Creatures Of The Deep,” they bring their back catalogue to the stage in its entirety. Nostalgia will never be the same again."

Flying Lotus, Sally Shapiro, Sebastian Tellier, Atlas Sound...

You put Matmos twice.
I claim my free copy.

"full details here," he added, conveniently.
...
...before realising he had placed the link in a place where it cd not prosper. "there," he continued, somewhat wearily, "that shd fix it."

I realised the other day...
... that Plan B is the only music magazine left that I actually look forward to coming out.
Glee!
Sparks!
Good freakin' call... looking forward to this one more than usual... had better be out tomorrow...
Looking forward to this
But it'll be hard pressed to beat last month's great great great issue.
I think I might subscribe this month.
what's on the CD?
there is a CD right?
atlas sound! yey!
exeter on saturday it is!
damn at no edit
i really need a subscription. i'll ask for one for my birthday, 'cos it costs more to get the train and bus than it does to buy the mag!
What Triptych
events are reviewed?
CD issss
"from the End Of The Road fest, and features Low, Bon Iver, Mercury Rev, Dirty Three, Jeffrey Lewis and loads more."
Triptych review focuses on Pram, James Blackshaw & Human Bell.
(w/regards subs, i think you save the price of two issues or something, plus there's a different offer every month - right now it's a book of experimentalish fiction based on Sonic Youth songs...)
feedback
...as always, is welcome. even negative. we can talk.
Feedback:
It's fab. What a terrific magazine. It has a superb balance between bands I love and want to read more about and bands I'd never heard of (and now have, thanks to reading it).
It's not terribly constructive feedback, but it is feedback nevertheless.
are we it yet?
are we? are we? are we? are we?!!??!?!?!?!?!?!!?
*in it
damn! my amazingly funny reply ruined by bad grammar...
;-)
CPWK tour diary..
will make me weep.
My mourning is slowly coming out of its denial stage... :(
CPWK tour diary
mentions our all dayer!
"Straight crowds, you suck"
:D
is so sad
that the diary ends "...these are genuinely really exciting times for us. Here's to the future!"
alex is bringing lots of good stuff through Holy Roar, at least.
Finally got around to reading it.
Two complaints: one, you need to sack whichever sorry assed print house you use, as the instant I opened it the pages came away from the spine one by one and made it difficult to keep it in one piece.
Two: Stop using 'yr' instead of 'your'. Please? It's just starting to irrationally annoy me enough for me to get angry now.
Waterstones in Truro don't seem to ever have it any more
which is a shame as it's the only music magazine I ever buy.
subscribe!
it's the only way to guarantee getting it and you get extra cds too. I know I sound like I'm employed by them, but honestly it really is worth it.
:(
WHSMITHS IN NOTTINGHAM NEVER HAS THE CDS ATTACHED!!! GRRR!!!
In that case you should
subs....
you know what, never mind.
i cant afford it at the minute
i always like to read who is in it before i purchase anyway
I think I should be paid to advertise Plan B
I obviously do a spanking good job of it.
I've thought of a slogan:
'Plan B - because you can't read DiS in the bath'
we pay you in (mostly silent) gratitude (thx!)
i'll have a word with publisher about disintegrating and CD-free issues - that stuff shd not be happening, clearly (and that's the first complaint about a copy of this issue actually falling apart; will look into).
unfortunately, i am under contract to say 'yr' - sonic youth are my sponsors.
