the essex band!
I hold high hopes for this thread.
So they're good right?
I've never heard them but they sound like they'd be awesome.

I got their album a little while ago
and still haven't given it a proper listen. Footprints in Snow is lovely though.
when I say 'their album'
I mean 'DI Go Pop' of course.
amazing band
was lucky to see them several times, at various points in their career. i actually prefered them before they started using samplers... ie, all the stuff on In Debt.
Summers Last Sound, A Rock To Cling To and From The Devil To The Deep Blue Sea are incredible tracks also.
one of the best bands ever....
they pretty much changed my life when i saw them live they were a fucking shambles but they were using all these crazy samplers and when they played guitar the sound of water came out! they were way way ahead of their time - buy everything you can get your hands on particularly 'in debt' (pre samplers and very joy division sounding) and 'di go pop'(completely nuts). all their singles were great aswell and they were always non album tracks - to my knowledge they haven't been compiled yet - they bloody well should be!
D.I. Go Pop
is incredible. 'Starbound: All Burnt Out And Nowhere To Go'is amazing played really loud, it has this chattering coda thing all the way through it and a lush guitar hook too its a great place to start
aye
however, the early stuff they did does tend to get overlooked. the Science EP is such an incredble piece of work. most of In Debt is beautiful, yet desolate... very sparse stuff.
Loved them
For about a year or so I was obsessed with them.
At the recent Fennesz gig in London I saw a bloke who had their logo tattooed on his leg. Now that's dedication.
