1) Got the new album after last week's last.fm thread. Out of the club and into the pub...French pop you can drink and sing along to.
3) French "krautrock" on Air's record label. Good stuff, though worringly, I think some of it may sound a bit like Kasabian (though I haven't heard much Kasabian).
4) Got Lambhouse, the "Best of". All the Unsane you'll ever need. I so hope they play ATP at Christmas.
5) Finally got Debt Dept. Really like it. Will listen again.
6) New album. A lot of pissing around on there. I quite like it, but it's not the Matmos I know and love...
7) Why haven't I listened to them before? I got Introduction, their last album with John McEntire. Fans of (smog) will love it. His "cover" of Puff The Magic Dragon is amazing.
10) Ludicrous Israeli punks. Saw them live on Friday. I got drunk, fucked my hearing and came home with a t-shirt.

I can't get into that Atlas Sound album at all

I think it's cause I don't like Deerhunter

me too

seen both Deerhunter and Atlas Sound live as well as listening to the albums to death and just cannot understand the fuss at all.

really?

I think it's wonderful and at points I think it's some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard. River Card, the title track, Sraping Past are all absolutely incredible and his attention to detail is pretty astounding. I don't use the word often but I think Bradford Cox is a genius.

Yep,

3 King Tubby 10
5 The Fall 9
5 Mogwai 9
7 IAM 7

Spent most of last week listening to Super Ape and Return of Django, hence The Upsetters' domination this week. Algernon Cadwallader almost overtook them after their excellent album came in the post on Friday.

2 Nina Simone
3 Pussy Galore
4 Richard Dawkins
5 James Brown
6 Isobel Campbell
7 Bonnie Raitt
8 Dirty Projectors
9 Abra Moore
10 Cold

A lil bit MOR here (Bonnie Raitt=country/folk, Abra Moore is basically Dawson's Creek music, I like it though), some classics (album of Nina Simone just singing while playing piano, lovely) and right at the bottom is some sludgy NuMetal, what on earth? Also the audio version ofthe God Delusion is rather embarrasing, apparently there's a south park episode that rips it to shreds, ah well. Oh and Jon Spencer's Pussy Galore doing Exile On Main Street, badly.

1) Young Team re-issue. It's very good. But you knew that.
3) Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. Is it better than Liquid Swords? I'm going to sit on the fence (ish) here. The first half is amazing, but after that it gets a bit samey and loses my interest. Still, absolutely awesome album.
4)I really like the sound of this album, sort of whirring and doomy almost. The guy from Gonga who does vocals has got an awesome voice.
7) Paralyzed is without a doubt one of my albums of the year. GRRRRRRR.

noice

Good that the Gonga guy isn't just sitting down on the

stage and smoking, cos that's all he did when I saw Gonga

Re: 1

I seen this re-issue in the shop yesterday and almost bought it. But then I saw Oppenheimer's new one

My chart made 90% of my weekly neighbours be from Eastern Europe for some reason

this makes me look like bad

thankfully no one has noticed

I just don't want to read about free jazz on my dashboard

Team Sleep

best sort of nu-metal side project? It certainly beats that Puscifer album. What a pile of crap.

what I mean is

it probably does. I haven't heard it.

It does by a mile

but then again Deftones were only nu-metal for about five minutes and Chino sings like an angel so whaddya expect

Rather that sort of angel

than that 'walking in the air' Britain's Got Talent child that won't get off the local news. The sound of children with high voices is the worst

As funny as Flight Of The Conchords is

an album is not necessary mang. Plus they missed out two of the funniest bits from 'Business Time'. Careful readers of the last.fm thread will note that I am still annoyed about this. Where is 'teambuilding exercise 99!' or 'I turn it into a sexy dance'? Where are they????
