When i couldn't sleep my grandad would dip my dummy in his bourbon. Worked a treat, apparently. As for a proper drink i'd say nine or ten, but only with food and on special occasions and only one. Probably started going to pubs and clubs when i was about fifteen. Never really drank in the house until i was about 19/20.

when my parents were taking me on holiday in France they realised how much cheaper wine was than coke. My daughter is 3 and she has her own egg cup that she uses as a wine glass if we have wine with a meal.

These people it seems just drink all the time but to be fair to them, living in south-west Dorset their isnt much else to do. I first got drunk when i was 15 and had been drunk a few other times before this period, which is strange as i dont drink anywhere near enough as this group of friends do.

beer with syrup at 8 and didn't really notice the beer taste -> got drunk
I was allowed to take sips of wine (mixed with water) at 14 from time to time.

I informed my mother of the alcohol laws, and she gave me a little bit of white wine in the bottom of a cup at Christmas.
i find that alot of my friends who are heavy drinkers now
