It's super-duper. Though not as good as 'Someone Great', which is Something Great. Geddit?!?!
it's not even the best song on that side of the record.
hawkwind - silver machine
they released so much great weird innovative psychedelic space rock and all that gets remembered is this.
jeffrey lewis - williamsburg will oldham horror
not that i don't love the song, its fantastic but when i saw him play last year we were stuck next to three guys who wouldn't shut up about it and kept yelling for it when he was playing other songs and they made me resent it slightly.

Fucking dirge.

it's
all about the ending though
This was my immediate response to the OP.
Perhaps familiarity has bred contempt, but it seems nowadays everything about 'Karma Police' is a chore up until they bring it around at the end. The weakest track on OK Computer? Tough to call, the only rivals are Electioneering and Fitter, Happier (which isn't even a song).
I agreed with all you said
until you said Electioneering. Cos you're wrong about that, plain wrong.
Nah
Electioneering's the reason that OK Computer's only 9/10.
Clumsy lyrics, doesn't fit the record, sounds like a Bends b-side. Actually, is significantly inferior to most Bends b-sides.
They should have put Polyethylene in there.
Wha!?
I find it hard to believe that anybody could not like any song off of OK Computer. Except Fitter Happier, but yeah that doesn't really count.
I liked Fitter Happier.

Windowlicker and Come to Daddy
good, but i can think of about at least 30 better Aphex Twin songs.
To be fair
they're the 'commercial' sound of Aphex Twin. I love them both, but I do like a good trawl through the darker corners of Drukqs when I need a real Aphex glitch-fix.
Ventolin ftw.
.
i would say there are many better "commercial" Aphex Twin songs than those two
it's just the fact they had brilliant videos. If similar videos were done for Flim, Fingerbib or the stuff of the Analord EPs (im my opinion those EPs featured some of his best work) then these would have been people's favourites instead.
I do think both songs are great though, but Windowlicker in particular a bit unrepresentative of his stuff.
Modern Love

God. THE. WORST. BEATLES SONGS. EVER.
And Led Zep yeah. Stairway to Heaven doesn't float my boat.
Sorry but 'something' is a gorgeous song
and you probably only hate yesterday 'cause you've heard it so much.
I agree with Come Together though and I'd personally add penny lane/ hard days night/ lady Madonna to that list.

Something really doesn't do it for me.
Don't mind the others, but likewise don't think they're knock-out brilliant by the Beatles' standards.
No to the first two but not so keen on Yesterday
The worst Beatles song (that gets played a lot) is Hey Jude. Awful and it lasts for ever.
I love it.
In my top 10 without a doubt.
Something is gash

Weirdly, I was having an impassioned conversation about this with
a friend tonight. I don't think anybody in their right mind could say that The Rat is overrated, because it is a fundamentally brilliant piece of music.
I do, however, think it has had the effect of taking away from the rest of their output. The Walkmen are not always as searing and impassioned as they are on The Rat, but they are a fucking brilliant band, especially the first two albums.
agreed
though i really like there third album as well. i mainly said it because in ways it has wrecked the public opinion on them.
I think it's a perfectly decent album, too
perhaps lacks the depth, and "it's a real grower"-ness of the first two. Some cracking songs though.

it's tilted towards pop dynamics
therefore it attracts larger audiences, those of which aren't interested in and can't comprehend the challenging nature of Mirrored itself.
