"battle with cocaine addiction"
Good grief.
I'm more intrigued by the other stories on that Mirror front page
Who's "Little B"? What was the "Peter Pan Pupil"? I need to know!
On a serious note, yeah, the whole furore over that cover was a bit ridiculous. I have a copy of it and, as the site states, there's no obvious reference to drugs at all - well, certainly none that the unitiated, for want of a better word, would be aware of.
And of course the lyrics depict the shallowness of a MDMA experience
I'd forgotten how much fun
all that E's and Wizz palarver was. As a 14 year old boy at the time, it did actually teach me how to make a speed wrap, which made me feel super-duper-excited, but ultimately made me feel a bit stupid, as I was always to scared to try drugs.
Mind you, all that fuss over it shows how far media attention has shifted now - positively revelling in drugged-up pop stars' actions today.
Thanks for the link!
