sound just penetrates the whole room and the whole of your skull. It's bizarre. It took me half an hour to move from 'wanting to leave' to 'being able to leave' when I saw them at ATP. And I quite like some of their recorded output.

Sunn O))) know - they must! - that what they are making is not discernably music to any discerning person. What they peddle is a terrible yawning drone that people buy because they hear somewhere that it is good and respectable and intelligent or whatever.
Somewhere, Sunn O))) are counting their pennies and laughing heartily.

Don't think they're noise at all (there first album got thrown in with Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Interpol, blah blah blah), love Sunn o))), but don't know if it's noise either (isn't it, y'know, metal?), and I love chips. But mostly because they taste good.

I saw them at Field Day last year, and they were godawful, I left after four songs. So So boring (but by all accounts they got better later on).

not the best person to ask about this. I'm not into experimental stuff, really. It's not that i don't get it, and i really aplaud it for innovation an all that, but i just can't listen to it and honestly say i'm excited. Most music is good, I just sometimes, y'know, don't LIKE good music. So yeah, i don't mean to offend anyone that likes liars.
I don't know the guys from liars, so i don't know their intentions, but the performance i saw was just abit, much. Closed eyes, swaying, energetic dancing in a 'possessed by the music' manner. Was all abit 'art student' for me.
