Checked shirt open with tshirt underneath...

i just did this by accident on the way to the shop. usually i hate it and thought it was a look reserved for tubby guys who wanted to appear 'scene' in less tighter clothing or people who want to seem call 'zach morris' style.

however i caught a glimpse of myself in the cash converters window reflection and it didnt look too bad.

thoughts and co.? anyone guilty of this? am i deluding myself? does it matter?

  • I do this

all the time but never with the shirt unbuttoned that's just wrong!

    • I missed the wirod OPEN in the title of this thread

  • That's what I'm wearing today

    :'( :'( :'(

    • but you're a girl

      • thus rendering it more or less acceptable?

  • i think it looks nice.

  • I did this last night

Couldn't decide if the tshirt or shirt looked better so did both.

Brown checked shirt with a pale yellow tshirt, with a massive graphic design on it possibly wasn't the best move but I colder later on a did the shirt buttons up.

Are you supposed to wear a tshirt with a design on it or plain? Are you supposed to colour code it in some strange way? Are there any rules?

  • sounds like

a joey or a chandler type look. nothing wrong with it.

    • It does run the risk of being a bit

      Bryan Adams, though

  • I've been doing this a lot lately...

  • this is pretty much all i wear

make sure you roll your sleeves right up.
    like the boss.

  • Me and martbowski started chequered shirts before all the indie people did

the proof: theres threads saying we wanted them from about a year and a bit ago, the impetus was seeing john frusciante on TOTP wearing one. We wanted proper flannel dawsens creek style, but all the indie people seem to just go with whatever. I can't find any, anywhere, so I own a really rubbish h+m "cowboy" sort of one. I try not to wear it too often but it's quite well fitting.

And open with a t shirt only works when you're wearing a belt and the t shirt is TUCKED IN. TUCKED. TUCK your t shirts everybody, it's the way it's meant to be.

    • These were around more than a year ago

How long ago did the Kings of Leon album come out? Caleb was wearing a nice Levis one in the video to the first single

And they'd been back in fashion for months before that too

      • :)

when I bought a checked shirt my friend said I was going for the 'Kings of Leon look'

  • checked shirts on guys generally = pretty hot

    so, whatever really.

  • I prefer

    to do the shirt up!

  • i do this quite often

its no biggy.when ive developed enough chest hair thats when il stop wearing a tshirt underneath my shirts

  • I have a lot of check shirt

And a lot of tshirts as well. Sometimes the world deserves to be able to see both at the same time. In conclusion, it doesn't matter.

  • I'm not a fan..

..this guy at work does it all the time.

  • i got told

if you own more than two checked shirts its a sign of liking men a little to much, is this a rule? im screwed if it is.

  • Chequed shirt ok

but I fear I look like an old man trying too hard if I put a shirt on underneath. So I don't. So I have to change my shirt more often. Swings and roundabouts.

  • I own a chequered zip up thermal jumper

none of y'all lumberjack wannabees can fuck with me.

  • is it 1994 again?

    I hope so.

    • I LOVE CHECKED SHIRTS

But Il ike the whole rockabilly ting so I'm biased I guess.

    • :D

Exactly what I was thinking - why not top that look off by doing your hair like Seth Green and wearing a little chain out of your combat trouser pocket?

  • yeah

plain/band t-shirt + checked shortsleeve shirt pretty much is my summer attire

  • Awful.

I bought a checked shirt recently for summer. But you have to tuck it in and button it up. Maybe undo the top one if it gets hot.

Generally, I hate them. I think they look really shit.
