I swear last.fm charts are getting

better every week. I hope it isn't me getting worse.

6.5/10

your rating system

is flawed.

You gave someone a higher rating who had The Cribs in their charts!?!!!!?

IGNORE USER!!!!! ;)

oh wait

unless your 6.5 was for someone else.

It was!

Yours was unrateable/10 again, but I am willing to believe it is about 8.5.

When you 'review' that many charts you don't spot the Cribs and it all becomes meaningless quite quickly :(

ahem

1 Why? 90
2 Pavement 88
3 No Age 78
4 Silver Jews 54
5 Born Ruffians 53
6 Johnny Foreigner 48
7 Animal Collective 43
8 Radiohead 32
9 Gravediggaz 19
10 Erase Errata 15

definitely the most i've ever listened to in a month, due to constantly listening to music while i "revise". still can't get over why?, apparently. and having a pavement renaissance!

new no age and born ruffians are sososo good and summery.

I can't get into the Born Ruffians at all...

Which Gravediggaz have you been listening to? I've been getting into the 2nd album recently. It's pretty solid.

i only have 6 feet deep

went through a lot of rza produced stuff this month to remind me how awesome he is. i never got the second album... i don't know why exactly, i just heard it never lived up to 6 feet deep and didn't want to taint it!

will give it a go though.

The third one

is supposed to be centered around Grym Reaper being aware that he is dying of cancer. I imagine that's a pretty harrowing listen!

Born Ruffians are so crap!

However Gravediggaz save all.

I divvnt like No Age much. What happened to the asskicking dudes from Wives mang?

6.75/10

Algernon Cadwallader 14
Amiina 14

Rivers Cuomo 10

Four Year Strong 7
Sufjan Stevens 6

Saul Williams can be good

but 56 mang? 56? Algernon Cadwallader has an excellent name and Amiina hit wine glasses so in conclusion 4.565/10

Amiina also play a saw.

Enough to bump it up to a solid 5?

Go on then

Sludgefan Stevens isn't bad either

I enjoyed Los Campersegf aery

at All Tomorrow's blehlehleh. I still haven't really listened to the songs, but there was much energy and dude looked like he was going to cry with happiness which is always nice.

Bon Iver was excellent too!

Boris are still the emperor's new nekkid.

were quite annoying live despite the high NRG and all that. All the hey hey ho ho sounded a bit contrived, unlike the glorious Meat Puppets who were keeping it real with an a capella Oliver medley. Weirdos.

9 Animal Collective 13

1 - I really liked the Daytrotter Session he did, which forced me to order one of his albums.

7b - Live in London FTW!

^5 for Emo Philips

and Jeffrey Lewis but Ting Tings? I haven't heard them as far as I know but they are enough to bump this down to a 6/10. They look that annoying.

I like them :/

The albums a solid 8/10 in my book. Some great pop on that record, nothing particularly innovative but it's a fun listen, and surely that's what music should be about? Enjoying yourself?

Enjoying yourself

while stroking your beard/chin alone in your flat? Of course!

7 Four Tet 26

9 Man Man 23
10 Cadence Weapon 22

6.667/10

Not too shabby! My question is this: Is Rob Crow solo boring like Pinback or quite exciting like Heavy Vegetable?

Guess what I got last week

1. No Age - 350
2. Slint - 67
3. Autolux - 53
4. Windy & Carl - 50
5. Drive Like Jehu - 47
6. Microphones - 42
7. Pantha Du Prince - 39
8. My Bloody Valentine - 33
9. Stars Of The Lid - 27
10. Low - 26

The new No Age is wonderful. I also rediscovered Autolux and DLJ - haven't listened to either for at least a year and they both blew me away.

woah

how can you listen to an artist 350 times in a week? I don't think i've listened to an artist that many times in a whole year.

Anyway..

1 My Bloody Valentine 23
2 Claudine Longet 21
3 Dirty on Purpose 20
4 Misfits 18
4 Songs: Ohia 18
6 Hammock 16
6 Morphine 16
8 M83 15
9 The Breeders 13
9 Mark Lanegan 13

I've been re-acquainting myself with Isn't Anything in view of the forthcoming MBV gigs, good album but it's no Loveless, despite what some people say.

Certainly OK

6/10. Which Breeders is it? BUMP UP YOUR SCORE

Mountain Battles

That was my first listen, and i wasn't really convinced. A second listen hasn't changed my mind either. I'll give it a few more spins before i totally write it off, but overall it sounds pretty lazy.

:(

I think Pod is an incredible album. They really know when to play and when not to play, if you know what I mean. It all sounds very spacious.

I haven't heard the new one but Title TK sounded a bit lazy in parts. The first five tracks are top drawer Breedaz however.

yeah

i love Pod (it sounds awesome on vinyl, btw) and i actually quite like Title TK, but this new one sounds a hell of a lot more cobbled together than that. I should probably reserve judgement until i've given it a few more listens though.

wow

did you know this week you spent 12 hours and twenty minutes listening to No Age.

:'(

It's a good album but that scares me somewhat. In my defence, I've been revising all week.

Actually, there is no defence is there? I need to leave my flat more.

I think it's the fact you managed to listen to No Age so much,

and still had time to listen to all those other bands?! I don't miss revising one bit.

Yeah

if you had 350 plays altogether :p

Did you see Autoluxxx play any new tunes?

They sounded basically the same, I was disappointed :( good band though.

350 plays is silly, for shame :(

6.9/10

Didn't see them

just been listening to Future Perfect. Heard the new track on their myspace which is really similar but good. I was under the impression the new album was gonna be a pretty major departure. Guess I'm wrong.

350 plays is ludicrous but I was stuck in my room revising for 11 hours/day all last week and it's a really easy album to throw on and zone out to.

...

Revising is hideous. Try not to listen to Stars Of The Lid, it makes failure seem ok. Which it often isn't :(

It is indeed

I'm done now, though. Failure can be ignored until I get my results. I've decided I'm not going to listen to No Age this week.

Bizarre!

I've just remembered the guy from Autolux used to be in a band called Failure :/

* saw live this week

So the first mystery jets album turned out to be brilliant too. Well what do you know

I know a song that will get on your nerves

and it goes a bit like this:

What a drag it is
The shape i'm in
Well I go out somewhere
Then I come home again

I light a cigarette
'Cause I can't get no sleep
Theres nothing on the TV nothing on the radio
That means that much to me

All my life
Watching America
All my life
There's panic in America
Oh Oh Oh, Oh
There's trouble in America
Oh Oh Oh, Oh

Yesterday was easy
Happiness came and went
I got the movie script
But I don't know what it meant

I light a cigarette
'Cause I can't get no sleep
Theres nothing on the TV nothing on the radio
That means that much to me
Theres nothing on the TV nothing on the radio
That I can believe in

All my life
Watching America
All my life
There's panic in America
Oh Oh Oh, Oh
There's trouble in America
Oh Oh Oh, Oh
There's panic in America
Oh Oh Oh, Oh

Yesterday was easy
Yes I got the news
When you get it straight, but stand up you just can't lose
Give you my confidence, all my faith in life

Dont stand me up
Don't let me down
I need you tonight
To hold me, say you'll be here
To hold me, say you'll be here
To hold me, say you'll be here
To hold..

All my life
Watching America
All my life
There's panic in America
Oh Oh Oh, Oh
she's lost in America
Oh Oh Oh, Oh

Tell me how does it feel?
Tell me how does it feel?

10 - so that's where Black Lips got their album title from?

I fucking hate Santogold

with her loud shitty advert and her big face.

Wives are greater than No Age

But that doesn't mean No Age aren't spaffing brilliant.

Minutemen are so so good. I'm gonna listen later after my exam.

I really like No Age when they're doing their

noisy rock 'n roll shenanigans. Wives make me want to smash things up though. I should probably get another Minutemen album. RECOMMENDATIONS PLZ MR BLOOMFIELD.

^5 (y)

Gooooood

Well sort of. Even three year olds know the Bloodhound Gang are awful :(

Spot on about Wives. All these kids listening to their 'No Age' on their 'iphones' don't have a clue how good it was in the old days (2005)

I was going to reply

about the music, but seeing as you've replied to nearly everyones post and scored each one, Ive concluded you cant possibly have a life and arent really worth discussing music with, sorry.

Come on

you aren't sorry, this is the internet! Some good concluding there.

Thanks for scrolling all the way back up here to see if someone commented, you make the last.fm chart what it is. Whatever that is.
