i liken it to my view on eva longoria
i can appreciate that she is an attractive woman and would obviosuly be a fool to say she was ugly/unnattractive etc etc.
but there is nothing about her whatsover that rouses the senses, leaving me cold and bored and scratching my head a bit at what the fuss is all about. who could be bothered to get excited over her blandness is a bit beyond me.
and this, people, is the way i feel about the racounters.
so....does anyone else have any of these, sort of....not strong hates or dislikes....but just complete and utter blankness over bands that are generally deemed to be the top chops.

you've just left me questioning Eva Longoria, and yeah your right, while the parts are all aces, the sum is a bit meh.

The Racounteurs could it be becuase there a "supergroup" for want of a better word, but the band have other priorities that you tend not to care about them as much, the Last Shadow Puppets another example.
Primal Scream are a bit like taht now, you listen to their catalogue and then there aces, but then what was the last thing you could get excitied by them? Maybe thats just a case of them going off the boil.

raconteur albums. maybe because i consistently failed to have any expectations of them.
now the white stripes... apart from the odd occasion, they leave me feeling empty. same for the black keys too apart from their latest album. and the kills. maybe i dont like 2 piece bands.
nirvanna always left me cold. as do the pixies and lots of grunge music.
and all hair metal. aerosmith and GnR sort of bands i just find insipid. similar for most punk bands too. i really love the clash, but the sex pistols, the ramones... meh.

Boorish would describe lairy 'lad' bands a bit more
like Kasabian and The Twang.
I'd say the Rolling stones. Never really done it for me. I mean I like a few songs but they just don't excite me at all.

but i totally agree with your sentiments about the new single. i think the word you're looking for is "meh"

I liked the first Raconteurs album,
second one is perfectly described with the Eva Longoria thing.

they sound have all the right sounds but it just sounds so empty - like they've been ticking boxes as they wrote the album
