try gumtree

but stick at ebay. I've been after one and they crop up on there quite a lot

for reviews

try harmony central, there's tonnes under 'user reviews'.

Ive got this bad boy

I got it for about $450 from modern music which i think went into liquidation which isnt much help. But it is a realy realy good guitar which you will be able to find cheaper else where

^

£

excellent

cheers! :)

it's not usually that pricey is it?

i got one from gak for £425 around xmas 06.
it's still a 100 quid cheaper new from there:

it's a really nice guitar

nah that

pic was just for illustrative purposes

ideally i'm going to order it from the US and get it shipped as it seems i can get one for around £300 including shipping :)

it doesnt seem

quite as easy as that as alot of places only ship to US/Canada

but i'm still hopefull!

Whilst on the subject...

...what's the least I could expect to pay for a Fender Jaguar (second hand or otherwise)?

£250 for a second hand japanese reissue?

(personally i'd go for a jazzmaster..)

Be careful getting it shipped.

I bought a 25 year old guitar on ebay last year and ended up paying hundreds in shipping and import tax/duty. Almost as much as the guitar cost itself.

Bloody UPS

They shipped it over from Arizona, and presented me with a bill for the duty when they handed over the guitar.

There was literally no way around it.

I challenged it, saying there was no way of buying that partcular guitar in the UK as it was one of only 250 made etc, and they just said they'd send round the debt collectors.

Incidentally, I just shipped the masters for my bands album to New York for mixing yesterday via UPS, and it's now being pulled apart by inspectors making sure it's nothing dodgy. I mean there's a few nicked riffs but...

Yep

It's all spelled out for Customs on the shipping documents i.e. what it is and value, etc.

You could try getting the seller to put a lower value on the documents, but if it's lost or damaged it will also screw you for insurance purposes. And Customs aren't entirely stupid when it comes to values of things.

I think duty is about 2% on the value of the instrument, the courier will charge about £8-£15 for administering the charges. Total it all up (including the shipping charges) and then add 17.5% VAT.

Unless you ask them to mark it 'repair'. :)

i sold one of them!

for £200 quid.

i only paid £250 for it as well. lovely guitar :D

where'd you get it

for £250?

Thanks guys!

I'ma get looking now.

ohh a friend

who'd played about 2 gigs with it.

he bought it with his bands advance, so didnt feel he could charge me that much. which was very very nice of him.

i bought my Burns off him for 150quid due to the same situation. awesome. now all i need for him to do is get bored of his AC30 and sell that to me for 30quid and i'll be happy

you jammy

bas :)
