those

two bands are ace!

some bands that are local to me are end the agony and the sticks.

just myspace them :)

crowns on the rats orchestra!

when are they going to record stuff properly?!

soon!

well, july/august, depends who you talk to. the downfall of having many members in many other bands.

Arent they both

more farnborough (that sort of way) based, rather than Hove? I know crowns on the rats all at uni down there, are Pluto too? Havent seen them in ages, they were really good last time I saw them.

well

i may of cheated, i'm actually from fleet. so hence my addition of the pluto, but crowns on the rats all live down here now, as do i. i also cheated by just bigging up my friends :(

its fine!

theyre both good bands, and theres nothing wrong with bigging up your mates bands if theyre good, and those 2 are!
I've only see crowns... once but I really liked it. A step aside from Hikikomori.

aww

this is my local scene! (sort of)

Yeah, not really that local to me

but theyre ace compared to the rubbish that comes from Southampton, plus I use to travel a lot of shows (around farnborough, guildford, aldershot and webridge, etc) so I almost count them as local too!

I envy you!

I LOVE My Disco. Such an ace band. Melbourne seems to have a pretty swish music scene.

I must confess

I live in Geelong, which is about an hour by train, but I have to go to Melbourne to see any decent bands. My Disco played here a few weeks ago though. They were so good, and they gave us beer and hung around for a while.

Just listening to Pikelet

Sounds really nice. I think I saw Fabulous Diamonds supporting My Disco when I was in Melbourne a few years back. I didn't think much of them then and I'm still not convinced by their recordings on myspace. I really hope we get to play over in Oz soon. Really like it over there.

aww

i utterly adore pikelet, i sorted a show out for darren hanlon in glasgow last year and she was outstanding

LEEDS SIX

Mob Rules - Incredible Flag influenced Power Violence. Ex Mock Heroic/Tigers...

Kasabian. Thank god I moved up north.

Second Mob Rules

What happened to Mock Heroic then? They split? Not heard anything of them in ages.

Ages and ages ago

Pretty much straight after their album came out.

Conor now does Mob Rules and Shittalker, Ralph does Sceptres, and I'm not sure Jop or Tom do anything at the moment.

when are

shittalker back gigging again matt?

Probably not for a while!

Me and Steve are busy with Held By Hands, Conor likewise with Mob Rules.

ah ok

well i can't complain with that. i will be catching held by hands live in brighton next month.

Embers Burnt

from chesterfield. Nothing like Avram Grant. Don't worry.

Also Vigilante Wing are pretty decent too.

The person

who said Hot Bone and Sir Yes Sir speaks the truth. Believe.

i come from an island that has no music

so i'm going to say: www.myspace.com/foolishhit and that's it. but they are AMAZING which more than compensates for the whole lack of local bands.

The Vanguard in particular

features the best vocalist and lyricist in the United Kingdom. TRUEFAX

Cats In Paris

I'm in unrequited love with this new Manchester band you failed to mention if it tickles your fancy

www.myspace.com/catsinparis

great band!

also day for airstrikes...

FOUR guitarists....amazing

www.myspace.com/dayforairstrikes

65daysofstatic duuuh

Rolo Tomassi, Rotary Ten, The Situationists, Pygmy Globetrotters, and probably a few more that have slipped my mind.

all true sven

but I'm really struggling to think of any new sheffield bands... beyond the oild standards (smokers, ck etc)

i am

doing a new band in Sheffield and I might call them The Oiled Standards now.

bands that me or my girlfriend are in...

Pygmy Globetrotters
Smokers Die Younger
Parallelograms
Slow Down Tallahassee
Navvy
The Bon Bon Club

between us we rule the Sheffield music scene!!

but seriously

These are damn good bands from Sheffield:

The Yell
The Ape Drape Escape
Darlings of the Splitscreen
Avida Dollars
The Hipshakes
The Millipedes

i keep hearing good things about Green Man Says Go but i haven't seen them yet, can anyone else in Sheffield back up these claims?
