I've got Solitary Man on - what d'you reckon is the best of the five?

i've only got a hundred highways

and it's fantastic. His voice on it is just so laden with gravitas and given the context it is just really hard hitting.

this is my input.

Wow

Go out NOW and buy Solitary Man & The Man Comes Around...!
Then the others too, I guess.

I'd say 4 - The Man Comes Around...

I'd go so far as to say it is possibly one of my favourite records of all time - easily in my top 5 and one I think I'll listen to (hopefully) when I'm old and grey. Worth it for the lead track - but also for Hurt, Bridge Over Troubled Waters (when he sings 'Sail On Silvergirl'...jesus christ I well up just thinking about it...) even Danny Boy. What a records. Johnny Cash.... bloody hell....3's pretty good too.
But 4 - he even makes Sting that useless c*** sound good on I Hung My Head.

Holy fuck

The Mercy Seat just came on.
Wowwowwowwowwowwow

The Man Comes Around

is probably the strongest.

But get 'em all.

the one you've got

is the best for me. I See A Darkness is fatastic on it, as is Fields Of Diamonds. Then get American Recordings itself for tracks like Beast In Me, Tennesse Stud. Or Unchained. Man Comes Around is great as well just for Personal Jesus, Hurt but it does have We'll Meet Again on it which is a bit mawkish.

Hundred Highways

Is probably my favourite Cash album of all-time. Even above Orange Blossom Special, which fucks me up.
His voice on Hundred Highways is so moving...when you know everything around the making of that record you realise that Hundred Highways is the sound of a man literally singing for his life.

I've got 'em all already

Was just deciding what to put on next :)
