Can't remember the first time

But most recently, I listened to Happy Endings by Pulp again and it made me feel all weepy. Not sure why, but it was lovely, in a sad kind of way.

Oh, I love that song ...

That's my wedding song, I think.

First,

seeing Elvis sing Teddy Bear in the film Loving You some time in the late '60s when I was about seven. Last, listening to Trost at myspace.com/trostcity sometime on May, 9th 2008.

One of the first was the organ and guitar breakdown

In Deep Purple's cover of "Help" (about 1967-68) while cruising in my buddy's mom's ford country squire station wagon- oh boy!

the last was just yesterday (more organ willies) Clinic's "2/4" - organ really cuts me deep.

LOL

"organ willies"

LOL :D

.

the first shiver really does change the way you hear music, before that i was listening to limp bizkit and papa roach cos it was loud.

i'm unsure when the first time was

but i'm gonna say it was probably due to Born in the USA by Bruce Springsteen. dad says that i used to dance to that in the front room when i was wee and had just learned how to walk. i guess it gave me a certain shiver that made me want to learn how to walk, just to dance to it.

the last time was about five seconds ago when i just finished listening to You're Living All Over Me for the fifteen millionth time.

my favorite d jr.

and the cure cover is sweet

?

completly unrelated but is everybodys sign in bar thing on the bottom right hand side this is really anoying

yeah, DiS changed the layout for some reason

i don't know why they moved the login bar. the top left-hand corner seems like the most logical place to keep it.

Cos

they want you to read what they've written, before you read what you've written. Cynical? Moi?!

hmm, possibly

to be honest, i don't mind them moving the Community list down a bit. i have a friend who often reads the boards, but doesn't post because he's kind of intimidated by the clique-ish qualities of the board (hi, James!), so i guess they don't want to scare of potential new users if the boards appear to be 'hidden'.

i just don't see their reasoning behind moving the login box. it really annoys me. you have to login to write comments on the reviews as well

First time:

Sigur Ros - Glosoli

Last Time:

Sigur Ros - Glosoli

I wish it had happened more than once. It was pretty awesome.

umm...

First
Sigur Ros - Hoppipolla
Last
Weezer - The Greatest Man That Ever Lived

mmmmm....

Dunno about the first

But most recently I listened to 'How To Disappear Completely', properly for the first time. Tears in my eyes.

aye

The first time:

Gorillaz - Tomorrow Comes Today

The last time:

Our Sleepless Forest - Clarion

I'd be hard pressed to remember the first time

maybe hearing Porcelain from Moby's play or High Noon By DJ Shadow last time would probably be the solo keyboard bit in boston by Vampire Weekend, the whole albums kind of grown on me lately.

first time was antony and the johnsons

most recent was probably no surprises

first

mew-she came home for xmas
last; air formation-for the hours

Probably the first time I heard the medley on Abbey Road -

more specifically, the outrointro from Polythene Pam to She Came In Through The Bathroom Window.

Last time... probably when I heard Turn Turn Turn the other night on Forrest Trump. JuscosIlove David Crosby and Gene Clarke more than words can say.

The Abbey Road Medley is glorious

I especially enjoy the bit where John, George and Paul cut heads at the very end- amazing guitar 3-way.

haven't listened to it in a long time, hey, LONG TIME: "boy, yer gonna carry that wieght, carry that wieght -a long time"

I think my first was

Hearing Only Love Can Break Your Heart (the Saint Etienne version). It was right at the bottom end of the Top 40 and I have a clear memory of listening to the charts again the following Sunday hoping it was still in the top 40. It wasn't and I was gutted.

My most recent one was caused by Laura Veirs' song Galaxies. So beautiful.

last time

was atmosphere at the end of the joy div movie a couple of hours ago. before that a whooshing bit of a techno tune on sebastian leger's essential mix yesterday. guess my spine is receptive. don't remember the first time.

Every time i hear

the opening few seconds of Joga by Bjork.

Shit, its happening now actually

as Rebellion (Lies) kicks in.

Best song of the fucking decade. Hands down.

i think it might have been hearing

Nothing Compares 2 U. I was about 3 or 4 at the time it came out and i saw the video on the Chart Show (remember that?!) and i felt really sorry for the beautiful bald lady crying cos she was obviously sad. I think i got quite upset about it actually, haha.

Last time, Heart Songs off the new Weezer record. Rivers sounds like he means every word of what he's singing, which is something he hasn't done since Pinkerton. Good job Rivers.

Im with you on the weezer

...not so sure about the other however...

hehe

you're lucky i didn't listen to ABBA today...that Weezer comment would have been replaced with how The Winner Takes It All turned me into a shuddering, goosebumpery mess.

And it's comments like that which probably get me a lot of funny looks from DiSers and my friends alike. Oh dear...

first?

i dunno, probably either c'est la vie by b*witched or mozart's requiem. good times.
the latest was probably on thursday when i had a no age/times new viking-a-thon.
next time will be in about 3 minutes when this song finishes and i can hear the intro to apt.A (2) by cLOUDDEAD. oh yeah

Oh god, the first time was whack,

probably that Boyzone song, Love me for a reason, or something gay, coz I was little and didn't know better.

Last song: First mile, Last mile by Gregor Samsa, rather appropriately...

...

saw Hole, about age 13, about a year after Kurt died. They came on hours late and played Violet.

Never really been to a gig before, didn't realise how much louder and intense live music is than music you listen to in your bedroom. More than a shiver down your spine, like some guitar distortion noise awakening.

brand new

live

first...

was probably upon first hearing americana because when i was 9 pop-punk was pretty much the pinnacle of all art forms
most recently when i relistened to oceanic by isis i definitely peed a little through actual fear of aaron turner voice and the brilliance of it

first

probably other side by the chili peppers, heard it on a plane to america aged 12.
Last? Well I only just bought Takk :D

Dunno when the first time was

But last time was listening to the last movement on sleep by godspeed you!...its bloody amazing.

I'd be very hard pressed to tell you

the first time music moved me, I'm nearly thirty and music has been an intrinsic part of my life for the whole duration. It's likely it was something by the Beatles or Queen though.

The last time? I can pretty much guarantee a shiver anytime I listen to M83's 'Graveyard Girl'. I loves me some M83 builds.

fugazi was prob the first

but i aaaaaaaaaalways get it listening to new slang by the shins cos its just the greatest song ever made (along with several others)

theres something about new slang there really is

it comes close to bringing me to tears sometimes

.

just got one from atmosphere myself just cos it reminded me of control.made the mistake of watching 24hour party people after control, great film but seeing a different actor play ian curtis was strange

first time i can remember - probably the strokes back in the day.

latest still has to be stephen malkmus's new album.
